The Heavenly Chronicle: Disappointment

After the close loss, The Angels feel rather disappointed with the result. It's crystal clear that with the presence of Lucien Leroy, they would have defeated Falco Gent without any real trouble, but the way they ended up losing hurt them in particular. It was obvious that the nice depth that they had been able to enjoy during the season with Layous, Vanhaewaert and Meekers coming of the bench, was greatly disrupted when Layous had to fill in the hole left by Leroy in the starting line up. The guard rotation with Lembo playing quite some minutes as the guy comming of the bench, was simply to much for young star who was acquired in the start of this season. Never the less, the Angels lead Falco through the first 3 quarters, but all of a sudden, things went wrong near the end of the 3rd quarter, and they lost the lead halfway through the 4th quarter. It was clear that the Angels guards couldn't rest enough, having such a hard rotation demanded alot from them, and they temporarily collapsed during the end of the 3rd and beginning of the 4th Quarter. They still tried to get themselves back in the game, but to no avail... Falco just refused to give up their lead, and were able to hold on to the narrow victory: 89-85 for the home team. Angels out of the PO's.

Manager Revo: "this is a very painfull loss. Not because of the difference in points, but they way how it was handed to us. We outplayed Falco for the better part of the game, and would have won if we had just that extra guard. Had Corman been in a better shape, or Leroy been able to play, then that game would have been completely different. It's a disappointing ending to a seasn which was looking very promissing untill that dark Saterday came allong"

however, Angels players were seen boarding their bus with the heads held up high.
Ottevaere: "we gave it our all. yes it's very dissapointing, cause we all wanted to go and have a good PO run. Luck wasn't on our side, neither with the injuries, nor with some of the play's that were very well executed. Next season, we'll be aiming for the PO finales and won't go for any less than that. We are already looking forward to next season!"

Angels will now play a few scrimmages and let the players rest up a bitt from the hard season, before starting anew next season. Angels fans all are hoping that next season, their team will be become the II.3 champion.
