The Heavenly Chronicle: Angels sign Rodrigo Martinez as Amadou Dieng replacement

The passed day's have been very hectic at Angels HQ. First the Angels met their doom in the cup at the hands of BoD. Then Amadou Dieng asked for a transfer, which he got aswell. So that left a hole at the C position, one that had to be filled up as soon as possible. Angels HQ had been on the phone for extended periodes of time. And when they finally found what they wanted, his plane arrived to late at Deurne Airport, meaning that he would miss the critical game against Psycho Silent, which ended up in a loss due to some additional front court presence...

gm-Revo then decided to postpone his introduction to the Fans untill before the game against Boubous Warriors, so that things at Angels HQ could go back to normal first.

gm-Revo: "we're happy to have signed rodrigo to a multiple year deal. His experience and leadership should be able to lift our team over Psycho Silent to the top of our division. Still we are going to miss Amadou Dieng. For his excellent work, he has been put up in the Antwerp Angels Hall of Fame!"

Rodrigo " Hello all. I hope i'll be able to fill up the gap that Amadou Dieng left. I intend to play really to my utmost capabilities, and i've come here with one goal and one goal only. That is to play in the BBBL"

The last statement came as a surprize, since it is as if he were declaring that he'd win the title this season...

when the press finally got a hold of Ottevaere ( who seems to be training much harder since the news of Diengs departure) he said: "The last sentence of his statement shows that Rodrigo is a very ambitious man. He wants to go all the way. I like guy's who believe in their cause, because it gives them this extra motivational drive that can overcome many difficulties. I've also asked a personal friend of mine if he would like to join my squad at the end of the season... He answered that he might be willing to do so, and i'd love to see him team up with Rodrigo."

Ottevaere refused to mention the name of the friend to who he was referring to, but speculations are going around that it could be a player with NT potential.
