Press Announcements

McFlynn legacy continues to grow

Aussie team captain Dwayne "The Manster" McFlynn will move into equal fifth on the all times games record for Australia on Monday night when the Meat Pies take on Guatemala in the Consolation Cup.
The durable big man will bring up his 116th appearance in the Green and Gold on home soil when the game tips off at 8pm EDST.
Known for his take no prisoners approach to the game, McFlynn is just 22 boards away from becoming just the third player in Aussie history to pull down 1,000 rebounds in the national side. There are unconfirmed reports that he has instructed his team mates that a low shooting percentage would be appropriate for this week's game, with one source suggesting he is threatening to punch anyone who shoots from inside the arc.
McFlynn's long time partner in crime, Homer "Security" Dawes had this to say about the stalwart ahead of Monday night's game.
"No doubt, Dwayne has been a legend of the program. I just don't know how he keeps getting up to play, week in and week out, with the physicality he brings to the court. Of course, no one has the balls to tell him he's not suiting up for fear he'll smash a chair in their face, so that probably helps too, I guess. Wait, he's not going to read this, is he....?"
Tune in Monday night to see the big man do what he's been doing for the last decade - scare the hell out of everyone on the court, the opposition, the refs, hell, even the mascot gives him his space most nights.
