Press Announcements

Huge fortnight

The Aussies dispatched a plucky and developing Kazakhstan last round to continue our unbeaten run so far but we are now heading into a tougher patch of games, with our remaining match ups all against fellow undefeated sides.
While China is obviously the toughest of those clashes our next two against Indonesia and Lubnan are just as important. Win at least one of these and we should finish top-three, win both and we will finish at least top-two and put ourselves in with a chance in the final pool game of taking out this pool.

Solid game shape from our managers will be really important over the coming few weeks - I do want to thank the community for the job they are doing around this so far. While we haven't had a full list of 9s in terms of game shape yet it has been steady and solid, which is a good start.

Also thank you for the patience of some managers who have players just outside the cusp of the squad. With the side firing on all guns right now those next in line will have to work hard to break in, but what is really pleasing for the future is we seem to have some managers with players in that 23-28yo bracket that have a nice little batch of players coming through. Chances will come if your guy is ready to take them when they do.

You don't have to have a player on the roster to give me your input into who you think our Most Valuable Players are each week. Just watch the game 9or check the scoresheet if you aren't able to watch the whole game for whatever reason) and let me know who you think earned the 3, 2 or 1 and I'll factor it in in the voting.

I'm also working away on collating some historical all-time National Stats for players across our journey since our first competitive National game in season 3. I'm about a quarter of the way through but looking forward to sharing with you all some highlights along the way - former managers might find it nostalgic and numbers nerds like me might find it interesting.

Let's keep this Aussie community growing team and, as always, if you've got a guy you think should be on my radar (or the under-21 radar for that matter) send me through their skills and I'll add him to the watch list.

Deano
