Cresleys Cruise to Division IV Crown

The Connecticut Cresleys finished off the astounding playoff run as they finished off the New Jersey Cavs 118-100. The Cresleys, fresh off a dramatic 105-104 overtime win in Jersey in Game One of the Championship Series, The Cresleys raced to a 6-0 lead in the first ninety seconds, and were never seriously challenged afterward. After the early fouling out of Virgil Akins, the Cavs seem to have thrown in the towel.

It did not help that the combination of All-Stars Zhong Donghao and Clyde Diehl lit the lights up for a 63-45 lead at halftime on 60 percent shooting. The Cresleys turned up the heat, and formally ended any comeback hopes when they raced to a 104-64 lead after three. The bench was cleared, and the Cavs managed to close the gap to the final score.

The Cavs clearly missed Estonian Center, Otto Randala, who was out with an injury. They could not find a defensive presence during the game. Clyde Diehl would have his second double-double of the Playoffs with 24 points and 11 boards. Zhong Donghao led all scorers with 36 points. Buford Monahan saved his best scoring performance for last with his season-high 34 points to lead the Cavs.
