This team has only one mobile app, which has had terrible reviews in recent years. At the same time, the development of the mobile version of BB was halted. It's very strange to stop working on something they're actually competent at.

Their Facebook is inactive, there are no posts on X, and according to their LinkedIn profile, the company has no more than 10 employees. Most likely, the game was purchased to generate passive income without investing in any improvements.

Besides, the game already runs fairly well — they can easily leave it unchanged for a few more seasons without a significant drop in the user base. In that sense, it was a smart acquisition. Why not sell the game later, but at a higher price?

I’ve long stopped believing that any positive changes will come from these owners.

I have the same fears, but I hope for the best like our fellow turkish manager.

Anyway, whatever the truth is, I think the biggest shame is the lack of communication. The BB community still here is eager for changes and new content, and no update has ever been shared, even in the last new season announcement. I think this is the main mistake. If the company is small and BB is not very profitable (which I would understand) you can say "ehy guys be patient only 1-2 people have been added to the team since the acquisition, we will work slowly but steadily". Even something like this is waaaay better than this long silence that can spark any kind of speculation.

And let me add: it's time to think about whether it's worth making the code open source. I think this could be a (partial) solution to the problem, some developers might join for fun or in exchange for a supporter package. Of course "secret" things (like the Game Engine) could be excluded from the open sourced code, but most of the BB universe could be shared with other developers. I understand this would be a big and risky change, but still better than see this game to die slowly.

They buy the game, update the payment system in like, 2 weeks, create a trusting enviroment in the beggining and now the're gonne for like a year? Seems like a "dad is just going to buy some cigs" situation but in this one I'm paying for the cigs but hey maybe he will come back, who knows xD

It has been 2 years since the new owners took over. The owners rarely respond, if at all. I know that there is a lot to code, but if one person works on it, then he will code it for 5 years and that is very bad. If there are more people working than there should be, then everything goes very, very slowly. Can we get some information about the progress?

It is only one year ago, but nevertheless, an update would be nice.

I love this game. However, the lack of communication is just too bad

Please make it right if you are reading this thread.

Information, communication with the user is very, very important. It's essential to inform, to explain what's being done, what's being worked on, where things are headed, etc. This builds trust, security, and credibility in the game.

Not doing so, not informing, not communicating with the user (other than stating a few obvious things) leads to the user not trusting, having no security, and losing credibility in the game and with the new owners.

And that, rightfully so, they'll believe they're just selling snake oil.

Until such time that the owners post any update on the current state of the game then I'm not paying for any subscription for this game. It's been that way last year and looking at the latest news for Season 69 looks like I'll pass again this year.

We're not asking for a weekly public audit, just information on how things are. A "we're working on the code" or "we're developing a new interface" or "we've analyzed it and for now, we're not touching anything". Is a little bit of information about how things are once a season too much to ask?
The Italians are masters in the art of selling anything, but honestly, they don't seem like it. Are they sure they're not North Koreans disguised as pizza makers?
