NZ grab epic win

NZ made history this morning when they grabbed their 2nd win of the 2nd round of the Asia Cup for S26 (Last season they went 1-5, winning their historic 1st win).

This game had been targeted for about 4 weeks by the management team as the big upset we though we could pull off (We had dropped 5 of our last 6 in order to build up our enthus in order to CT this game).

Singapore is evenly matched against NZ (Singapore is the 8th ranked Asian team ,while NZ is the 9th), and they went into the game full of confidence after knocking over #2 Asian team Taiwan last week. However NZ mixed up their tactics for the first time as their guards have been trained well enough in the last 2 months to allow us to play a different style. This caused Singapore to miss predict our game-day prep.

The star of the night was Te Aroha's big men again, more specifically her PF stud Wolfgang Banfi. Banfi went 7 of 13 from the field and was able to knock down 3 of 5 3's in our new base offense system. He also made 7/8 free throws and pulled down 11 boards to finish with 24pts and 11 rebounds.

If you look at the box score its hard to believe we actually won the game, let alone were leading by 21 points entering the last quarter.

We have 1 game left for the season against Taiwan, a win over them would have us in the mix for a possible semi final (or at least a repo-charge chance of making the World Cup) - Stranger things have happened.
