NZ beats Lebanon in friendly

With a bye in the final week of round 1 NZ traveled to Lebanon for a friendly match against the Lebanese. They are a team who has had a hard season, and with only 2 21yp players they are truly building for next season.

With that in mind the kiwis decided to play their younger stars, and featured a starting lineup that was all 20 years old or younger.

A huge 18 point lead built in the 1st quarter killed any chance of a close match here, and in the end NZ limped home to win 109-94, of course the result was not the big news in this game

The big news of the night for NZ was 20yo SF Linwood Benton-Evans getting his first game for NZ. Linwood is currently on the transfer market, so this was more a showcase of what NZU21 thought he could do for the team if he is headed to the right manager (A big 500K bid from the Ukraine has the coaching staff excited). His 18pts, 5rbs, 3stls was pleasing to see.

Chuck Knight was the big difference tonight, scoring 30pts and 13rbs as he continued to lead this NZ team from the front.

Fellow 20yo Daniel Williamson was the only other under 20 year old player on the NZ roster, his 18pts, 10rbs, and 4 assists in 17 minutes off the bench didn't go unnoticed by the coaching staff.
