If we have too many games scheduled it is because I've tried to schedule them, stuffed up the time and rescheduled the game. In no way would it be to gain an edge - I mean, who would bother to do that? What would that say about your character as a person if you truly tried to run multiple games against another opponent to try and engineer a result to win a fantasy, online basketball match?
To me, running a Home Grown team is just somehting I've been doing for a long time to see if I could.
Once everyone has accepted the updated times I'll update the links and the season can play out then I'm out.
Thank you for your response. Let me be clear on this - you are not suspected of anything suspicious, or being thrown under bus due to not organizing everything correctly. However, there are billions of different kind of people in the world, and it would not surprise me the least bit, if I'd hear some managers would feel it's good idea to play multiple matches and select the published game from those. This is not a huge task to correct though, nor does it exhaust more than 6-7 of your tokens, and as all other matches are organized within 1 hour time frame, it's best to stick with same policy for all.
And forum is a dreadful place to set all these up, find information when needed etc., I think most of us can agree on that. Dedicated website would be better, but that'll have to wait (if it ever even sees the daylight, that is).
We all need to remember that this league is just starting out, so we are all little bit unfamiliar with certain tasks that running it requires. But like we learned to play BB, we will learn what it takes to participate to HGL.
Also, while you have certainly also acknowledged the work needed for establishing a completely new league, maybe somebody (who has perhaps tendency to be more critical) would be less critical, if they knew how much effort actually goes into planning and executing certain HGL related tasks.
Nothing happens automatically in this league. It is an unfortunate fact, but we're going to have to live with it as long as HGL is not an official part of BB. What is even more unfortunate from my point of view, "Nothing happens automatically in this league" is true in pronounced manner when in comes to league Commissioner.
And I'm not sure if I need to say this, but now this work that you guys do when you create box score posts, do you remember that you were supposed to do it during the Season 1 for the 15 separate times? So other option would've been that you would've had to send separate box score links to scores thread in every, say, 3-4 days. Which option do you find better then? Now it takes that off from your chest when you get it done, you can set up full lineups for the whole regular season, and next time HGL requires your attention (unless you're contacted by me in BBMail for some reason) is during playoffs.
So if you "sign out" for a regular season (you know what I mean; not setting lineups actively, commenting to anything on forums, etc.), you need to remember to arrange matches during playoffs every week separately.
Again, I wonder if anyone realizes how much time it has taken from me to verify all these things are correct and functional.. For instance, one mistake often has an effect on league that reaches far beyond one team only, as we can see here. I understand I'm probably the most committed manager what becomes to HGL, and don't expect same kind of enthusiasm or commitment from other managers. But again - for instance this is not a long task to correct, and of course it could've been done correctly in the first place which would've saved that trouble from all. Of course it's not enjoyable task to take over if you're tired, but thanks for doing it... But this will give us some information regarding to Season 2, as we don't want to start this process as later as I originally planned, but allow it at least as much time as we had this time.
