The first season I started with a win.. I think the goal for the season could be 50% wins. This season I will practice rebounding, I'm just afraid of what will happen to the salary.

I agree that such graph-based statistics over the seasons would look nice. If I have some spare time, I might look into it and try to create some of these. Though, I'm not sure, how we could distribute these stats to all of the HGL managers, I don't think, we would be able to send such graphs through the BB forum.

Alright, thanks very much! Yes, that's definitely a good question (distribution), as BB forums do not allow graphs.
Personally I've been reluctant to require using of cloud service links if one wants to access (any) HGL content, and that view still stands on my part.

One of the best long term solutions could be to create an own website for HGL, which would guarantee much more freedom anyway in terms of, well, everything, and make navigation even easier than nowadays.

But that's still on the very early drawing board, and thinking cap must be set deeper onto the head.

As far as I've searched so far, it's not totally simple to find ((and especially compare such services, in terms of finding best service provider given the low (or rather free) price requirements)) a great all-round solution (preferably with so called drag and drop-kind of UI, that doesn't require any coding) that would provide best possible user experience in terms of, well, many things.
Such as user experience, site usability in mobile mode (should there be lots of differences among service providers), UI and usability and reliability and security and price point (preferably free, but not the only important thing) from the "web page owner" standpoint, whether or not web page creator actually owns the page or not, domain availability/purchasing and price and it's connection to service provider (example: hgl.com or something else almost like that, or hgl.serviceprovidersnamehere.com) and so on.

I noticed some managers for instance have made team websites using Weebly, but as far as I searched, it hasn't only received positive feedback from users, so I might prefer to keep on looking for more optimal solution (having said that, I have no user experience from Weebly).

Season 3 has started, and league table posts have been updated for the first time this season (on both Official Threads)!

While only 2 matches were really tight on Round 1, some interesting box score facts can be found from other matches as well. And in terms of those 2 aforementioned matches, VIV recorded their first ever HGL win in an important match against SUM - a high quality opponent supposedly fighting for similar league positions (at the end of the Regular Season), so as we all likely remember, now that SUM is at 0 wins and 1 loss, they must find two more wins compared to VIV during rest of the Regular Season to surpass VIV at the ORSR (Official Regular Season Rankings, that are used to determine who will face who in Playoffs).

As you could predict from scoreboard, in box score teams (SUM and VIV) were fairly even. Per Bernhardsson from SUM was shooting the lights out especially beyond the arc (8 of 13, total of 42 points), but SUM left 8 points at the free throw line shooting only at 60% - shooting at least with 75% accuracy would've forced game to overtime.

LMS, as Moneta mentioned, opened their HGL with a win for the first time ever, by beating D by 6. Again, many things in box score were very even, but LMS were more proficient behind the 3-point arc with 7 made threes (.368 accuracy), while D's drive to the basket-strategy possibly limited their success rate from beyond the arc at 14,3% (only two made threes).

From other matches, I could pick many box scores to write about, but let´s choose WMO-HB this time:
Despite match being played in France (neutral court so no need to worry - and yes, I'm aware it doesn't affect anything but it's just an interesting exception), and despite WMO choosing quite optimal defense strategy compared to HB's offensive strategy, HB won by 13 at the end. Teams' box scores, however, weren't mirror images of themselves; WMO shot 22(!) more times than HB while also executing at much higher accuracy beyond the arc (WMO .407 and HB .231).
Why was the difference with FG attempts so big (to favor WMO by 22)?
HB was shooting from the charity stripe ridiculous 47 times - I can't recall many times when I've seen numbers like that in BB. As usual, HB was very strong (last season they shot FT's with 88,9% accuracy in their regular BB league) from the charity stripe, nailing 40 out of 47 attempts (.851 accuracy), and if nothing else, that sealed the deal for them.

As mentioned, many interesting details available on other box scores, but as time's limited, please check them yout yourself and please comment if you find some interesting statistics to write about. :)

Yes, congratulations Monēta - this is definitely a proof of a major change that has taken place in your player development, and as a young team, I have a feeling that you're not going to stop here... :)

I know your fear by experience - some skills are very expensive when certain levels are reached, and if my memory serves me, rebounding was one of those not so affordable ones.

In other words, if you are already playing in HGL, please inform me of your interest to continue playing on next Season of HGL by the start of current Seasons' HGL playoffs, thank you.

Basically, personally I'd like to guarantee a place for all current teams playing in HGL for the next season as well, should they wish to continue playing in it, and I added "day of announcement" above mainly in the case new teams join and if we would need to restrict the amount of accepted new teams (due to sensible league size restrictions) and if we would then use 'day of announcement' as a critical decisive factor in deciding which new teams would be allowed to join.

This, however, hasn't been locked in as a selection method for new teams, as so far HGL has accepted HG teams based on 'first come, first serve'-basis. And when I think of it, if we have "too many" interested new teams wanting to join HGL (and simply couldn't accept them all - currently 'soft cap' might be somewhere around 18-20 teams per season, but that's still under discussion and we might be able to remove that soft cap in the future), then I think some kind of play-in type short league/playoffs structure (that would take place during Season 3 HGL Playoffs) between these teams would be preferable in that case to determine participation rights for new teams.

More good news for HGL, as I just yesterday received a confirmation from M a k e (Alanurmon Rikkaat, team page: (59111)) that they are interested in participating to Season 4 of HGL!

So if no further changes occur and all current managers continue on Season 4 as well, we're going to have 17 teams playing on Season 4.
(I wouldn't mind finding one more though for Season 4, as then every team would play every week of the Season 4)!

They have a young, hungry and developing team, with Top8-players salary of $148937 and those players' average age during HGL Season 3 is 24,9 years.

So should they have participated already to HGL on Season 3, they would've been last in top8-salary rankings with $148K (currently HGL's 16th top8-salary ranked team pays $262K weekly to their top8), but it's definitely noticeable that they would've also been the third youngest team in the whole league!
(It'll be interesting to compare next Seasons' values to these, to see how his team progresses from this Season to next - with such a young team there's a lot of developing potential waiting to be used).

In addition to these aforementioned top8-salary players they do have 20yo. MVP-potential player (with current $7491 salary) and 19yo. MVP ($5720), and their heights (206cm and 193cm, respectively) leaves lots of choices possible in terms of training choices/player development, and means they have quality material from which to develop both inside and outside threats for the future.

Welcome already beforehand, M a k e, on my behalf to HGL on Season 4 - naturally, I'm very glad to see a third Finnish team in HGL, and I have a strong feeling that cthulhu (from Suuret Muinaiset) and also other current HGL managers gladly welcome you aboard!

Excellent decision, and while basically needless to even say (to state the obvious), I'm very glad to see you wanting to keep on playing, WiMaOl... :)
So for now, due to your word 'maybe' I only added one + sign after your team name, as you prefer to evaluate your participation on season-to-season basis (which is totally fine - it just requires your announcement every season separately, so that we know if you´d like to continue on next season).

@all managers:
As you likely remember/can see, you can already sign up for Season 4 of HGL (and also to further Seasons with one '++'-announcement only, if you prefer to make a statement that you want to keep on playing as long as possible, season after season). As mentioned, I'll update list of Season 4 (and later Seasons') teams here: (328546.32).

So if you already know/have definitely decided you want to participate either on HGL Season 4 (played during next BB season as usual), or for all forthcoming HGL Seasons, please let me know either replying here (on either of these Official Threads, preferably on this one) or by sending me a BBMail.

As usual, let's try/aim to make decisions during the Regular Season (still 14 Rounds left to decide, so there's no rush) whether or not you want to participate for Season 4. Naturally, I hope to see as many of the current teams to continue, as possible. :)

With this announcement, good news keep on coming - very glad to hear that!
As we've all noticed, you've also helped to create content for HGL (stats/tables), and it seems you'd be willing to keep on helping in the future as well on some HGL related tasks, so naturally this is more than welcome news - of course not only due to that, but also because you seem very smart, cordial and good spirited manager, and it's also great to keep on having many local competitors in HGL.
