Hey, just letting everyone know that I just took the opportunity and bought back a previously sold draftee Taavi Ummelas (53184526) with a salary of 10230$. That improves my top-8 salary by a little bit to 251K and raises the average age of my top-8 to 23,8y.

Thanks for sharing that with us, LennuK. Lucky you!

Hi Wagner,

please count me in for season 3.
Thank you for all of your work

HG - This is the way :)

Thank you Paul George for confirming your participation to Season 3!

With this announcement, the only current HGL team that hasn't confirmed their participation to S3 is a new-to-HGL team Hårdboll.
But like I mentioned earlier, there´s still time to decide, as I hope decisions on participation have been made before HGL Season 2 Playoffs begin.

And yes, I agree 100% - HG is the way to go. :)

Thank you for letting us know, and also very kindly calculating changes (to top8-salaries and average age) yourself.

I'll update that transfer data bit later, because once again BB post character limitations come into play and I have to edit post(s), in other words delete part of previous content, to get new additions/information to fit into posts.

EDIT 24.8.2025: Above mentioned post has now been edited.

I'm glad to announce, that we have another manager, M a k e from Finland, who will be very likely joining HGL in the future!

His team Alanurmon Rikkaat is not quite yet totally 100% home-grown, but isn't far from it either (yes, this time I made a quick roster check before announcing it here on the Official Thread).

The "funny thing" here is, that this seasons' cup lottery threw our teams to face each other this season, and only due to that I found out his almost home-grown team, by checking out his roster (in order to prepare for the match).

As we can see from this example, there must be many HG or almost totally HG teams in Buzzerbeater, that we simply aren't aware of (like I wasn't aware of Alanurmon Rikkaat having already previously been HG, and currently being almost HG team).

Anyway, pleasant surprise, and I'm glad to see also new teams being interested in joining in the (near) future!
Here's an updated list of current and likely future HGL teams: (327516.86).

Round 10 offered us couple of thrillers (ED vs. LMS, and SUM vs. LGM), and an interesting measure of current team performance levels (against each other) in KKS vs. HAD match.

ED vs. LMS 104-106:
LMS was able to get maybe the most remarkable (and for their Playoff chances, very important) win in their HGL history by beating strong ED team by 2 points, well done Monēta! Their 7 point lead before 4th quarter held, even though ED had chosen quite optimal offensive and defensive tactics considering which tactical choices LMS made for the match. Again, ED being very cold from the 3 point arc (now 2 previous matches combined at 2 out of 20 shooting; 10%!), while LMS was able to score 42 points behind the arc (with .452 accuracy), despite ED playing with 3-2 zone.

SUM vs. LGM 93-91:
Another nail biter of the Round 10, LGM led by 1 before 4th but SUM was able to win 4th by 3, and therefore bring 2 points back to Finland (from Italy, SIPPO ARENA). LGM actually still led the match 27 seconds on the game clock, and had potential winning shots in the air when there were 19 and 2 seconds in the clock, but were unable to nail either of those 3 point attempts. You don't see it every day that both team play Princeton, but yesterday you did, if you watched this one. As for tactical choices, LGM predicted that SUM will play balanced offense, which was incorrect - did this prediction finally turn the scale to direction of SUM in this "coin flip match"?

On Round 11 we are being offered another treat in form of VPO vs. HAD, both teams at 10 wins and 0 losses on this Season 2. And yes, many other interesting (and possibly close in terms of score) matches on Round 11 as well!

Yes, it was a disappointment for this game :/
GG Moneta !

BTW, I can see that almost all my games are very tied (less than 10 pts and less than 5 pts).

Yes you are, you are likely going to have a bright future in HGL... :) Like we can see from this comparison table, here: (327516.63), your team was ranked 4th in HGL salary rise (in $) and 3rd in salary rise in percentages (+29,6%) from Season 1 to Season 2. Also, what's definitely worth noting, is that your teams' top8 players average age is still youngest in the whole HGL (at 22,6 years).
So next season, you'll be likely getting ahead of myself in Top 8-salaries, and likely ahead of some others as well in the forthcoming seasons. Your team, in addition to Swan River Serpents (a bit later than your team though, as MrJ is still in different development stage), might both become a great example on how important patience, planning and skill (to build/train a team) are in HG projects.

Yes, that´s remarkable how even many of your matches have been - 4 out of 10 of your Season 2 games have been decided by 3 points or less (and your record from those is 1 win and 3 losses).

During Season 1 you had 4 matches which were decided by 5 points or less (record 2W-2L), so you´re ahead of schedule this season and will possibly make new record for close games for your team. ;)

I can only hope our match on Round 14 will be even as well, and I have a feeling it could be very important for both teams in terms of Regular Season league table position, a.k.a. Official Regular Season Rankings (ORSR) for Playoffs...
Not that I would necessarily or even likely be able to surpass you in the league table (by ending up having same W-L record than you and possibly/theoretically winning our S2 meeting), but every added win in so far quite difficult season (for me) will be important.

League table updated to reflect situation after Round 12 of play.

What a round we had last Friday, lots of exciting matches! Many would be worth writing a short review (and thank you LennuK. and demars for doing so on another Official Thread, it's always a joy to read managers writing about their matches and teams!
I think that must have been one of the most interesting rounds of the Season 2, and we definitely are in a very decisive time of the year as teams are fighting for optimal positions for the season. Sometimes as little as 1 or 2 games that you're able (or aren't able) to turn around to your advantage can make or break the season.

LennuK. for instance had another close loss of the season on Round 11, and without those two close losses BC Eos would be at 5W-7L, and would currently have a firm grasp at the seat in Playoffs.

demars's luck (perhaps that's a wrong way to put it, but I hope you understand my point in the way it's meant to be said) on the other hand turned into a better direction with an overtime win, after having lost 3 out of 4 close matches (decided by 3 points or less). Besides, meetings between teams from same countries always have some extra excitement built into them.

Another very interesting match between teams fighting for similar league positions was TRO vs. FRE, in which TRO was able to find first win of the season, while simultaneously keeping FRE at 2 wins - it's perfectly possible, that result of this match will eventually determine which one of these two teams will be ranked higher on Season 2 Official Regular Season Rankings (ORSR) if teams will end up in similar amount of victories at the end of Regular Season, but again, anything can still happen.

Also, another exciting meeting between strong, new-to-HGL teams KKS and HB, in which HB was able to pull off a W and continue their impressive season, now standing at 10W-2L and dropping KKS to (still of course respectable) 7W-5L.

With 9 point win RAJ was able to continue their (currently second longest) 6 win winning streak, and grapping strongly to 4th position in HGL (now at 9W-3L), which would guarantee them to skip First Round of Playoffs. They will still face KKS (7-5), VPO (12-0) and LMS (4W-8L, but fighting fiercely from a Playoff spot so they definitely won't be giving anything free for anyone) though, so they need to show their A-game for the rest of the RS as well, especially as WMO just behind them (at 8W-4L) won this season's RAJ-WMO Regular Season meeting and will surpass RAJ if they´d be tied in wins.

Again, I could continue this interesting end-of-Regular Season speculation on and on (and make further analysis on many Round 11 matches as that provided us many interesting matches), but I'm afraid this must suffice for now due the lack of time.

Following HGL managers in the listing below, please start filling your own box score posts (as already requested in this earlier post: (327516.122)) now, as some posts seem to have been abandoned after creation.

As you likely remember, this is a HGL requirement to fill scores of played matches to your own box score posts during Regular Season, after matches have been played.
As mentioned, it is easy to find our box score post following link for example in this post: (327517.4).

Teams (in no special order) from which actions are required (that haven't even started updating post or have updated it very long time ago):

- Freccia Azzurra
- Hårdboll
- Lielupes Melnās Sirdis
- Club Trouville
- Virtus Portici
