I hate it when people attribute so crazy theory to an obvious issue with game mechanics

This is exactly how I feel about those who insist that AI coaches going rogue by not strictly following the owners depth chart is somehow a feature instead of a bug.

Whilst walkover foul logic is ultimately meaningless since the game is recorded as having never happened after the fact (sans injuries for some reason), I do believe it is a good reason to look at the foul generation code regardless, as it's clearly not holding up in extreme scenarios, and the only reason it hasn't been exploited by human managers to this point is due to how impractical such an attempt would be.

Doubt it is a bug. I think the logic goes like this: the bigger the difference of skills in offence compared to defence, the bigger the chance to foul. The lucky fans are absolute trash at defence, so you get like the highest possible fouling...It is probably close to the ceiling. The more fouls, the higher the chance of injury. No fouls-no injury. The more even competition, the less injuries.

It is logical, really bad defenders tend to foul way more than very good defenders.

Problem is, the better team with better defenders are fouling the lucky fans at least as much if not more so. That's why I said the foul logic falls apart when skill differences are extreme.

I've always seen it as the bigger the difference between a players offensive abilities and a players defensive abilities (particularly OD) means more steal chances (or attempts) which means more steals and fouls.

I've got a big who started the season with marvelous inside defense and now has prodigious inside defense, and he averages 4.4 fouls in 36 minutes. He fouls out all the time. I don't understand how his defense could be so high and yet he fouls out all the time. There should be some logic that says the higher someone's defense, the less likely they are to foul. It doesn't make sense to have a 16 ID rating and still foul out nearly every other game.

It's respectable, so not great but not terrible.
