I stopped investing in Scouting costs. I have a strong young core that’s currently developing (obviously not D3 Ready)

We were netting over $100k a week, just made an acquisition so now we are about $86k a week.

A few teams have to be bleeding money at a rate of over $100k/week then.

Granted the economy page doesn’t account for BBM/NT wins, so up until this week, I’m sure the ‘real’ losses were much less. But with BBM and NT done for most teams, it’ll be interesting to see how everyone’s warchest holds up.

This is a super competitive league so I’m not surprised at the acquisitions to stay relevant in the W/L category.

It will be inter indeed. You can only run a negative operating income for so long.

The Preyers were losing money this season, until this week: it wasn't 100K, but it might have been 60K at its peak. I've been reducing it a little at a time. I have trouble balancing training for U21NT, for example, and keeping enough wins in the win column to satisfy the fans, especially if the trainees need to play out of position and get some game experience. It isn't that I can't do it, but I fight it. I don't get as much out of the game.

To digress briefly from the topic: The training system is out of sync with how I envision practice/training going for a basketball team. It's a simulation, so we make sacrifices for the fun of the game, but training has been one of the few consistent complaints I have about how the SIM works. I'm also not ecstatic with how the GE decides results--too much use of fouls (as in my last game with the Red Peppers) and injuries (for one game) to get to the result. Small complaints. The game is still very, very good!

Beyond confused with this week. How’d vegas beat mambas then turn around and lose pretty good to Fenway Flyers. I’ll have to dissect the matchups more, but jeesh this league really is that tight.

Also friendly reminder I was a top defense in the league last year - and admittedly trained probably 50% defense since then…. and my defense somehow looks inept now. Meanwhile, my offense was non-existent last year - I believe the worst in 3pt %, and 2nd from the bottom in regular FG%. And i somehow am a league leader in this regard, now. Make this make sense, please.

Also the league economy is way up now… I’m sure partially due to expense cutting but i do notice attendance and merchandise is up pretty big compared to earlier in the year. This is a trend I’ve noticed for multiple seasons that this last 3rd of the season these numbers spike a bit (i suppose similar to real life as playoffs approach), but curious if anyone else has drawn similar conclusions.

Fenway Flyers are an underrated team. Definitely not a team I’d want to play twice… glad I’m on the Big 8 side of the league.

I’ve been trying to improve our defense this year and it isn’t helping…. We’re the top team in my bbm tier otherwise I’d have thrown in the towel by now.

O believe me Fenway and my team have been doing battle for probably 5 or 6 seasons. There were seasons they were a top 2 team in the league running roughshod over most everyone. I’ve had 1-2 seasons where i had their number. And last season I think we were close but they were slightly better. It’s always neck and neck. But i meant it from the standpoint that Vegas has come on strong as probably the clear best team in our conference (despite the standings not reflecting that, to me they’re the most dangerous), so I Was shocked to see them lose to Fenway immediately after beating Mambas who is a clear top team as well.

I say all this knowing I barely beat Bench Mob and Urban Flow has the ability to take anyone down on any given night. It is a crapshoot. Just showing my respect to the work Vegas has done in short order.

It’s a very dynamic and unpredictable league. Never seen anything like it before honestly and I’ve been playing on and off for quite some time. Lot of supporters in this league and I’d say all the user teams in this league have a pretty good grasp of what they’re doing with team management and strategy. I don’t want to be relegated but it’s not looking good for the peppers I’m afraid. Aging roster with little to show for it. A little salty that they made the 5th place change (not that it really matters for me at this point.) to a relegation game between 5 and 7 place teams. That change was done a while ago, but I still don’t really like it. Allows for a lot of movement between leagues... Can be a good or bad thing I guess.
