Morning All,
My weekly net income is currently -$181,000.

you will make a whole heap of cash here so i wont worry about that. I would say max arena prices for maybe the first 7 matches, and that will help. That 588k i believe was the average of a teams players salary last season.

Some good advice there from FE.

I wouldn't worry about trying to meet the salary floor in your situation. Loading up on players is only ever a temporary solution. Looking at the age profile of your roster ... Sorry to say, but it's actually pretty bad.

The good news is that you get huge attendance boosts coming up to ABBL, fans are willing to pay a fair bit more to come see the top teams. I would still be focusing on finishing off your arena with any spare cash you have (you can also dump all your staff, as you won't really need them right now).

So overall, you won't need to start from scratch, but I would recommend you start from scratch personnel-wise. I did the same thing myself back in season 38, after pretty good seasons in 36 and 37, I decided to hit reset on the roster, tanked and went down to rebuild. Out of that, I drafted arguably my best ever player, trained him up in a training plan alongside two other good prospects, and yo-yo'ed between div 1 and 2 for a bit. Now, my team has matured and finally come together, so I can contend for the next couple of seasons (fingers crossed).

Having a completed arena really helps with that, making sure you're maximising your economy each week, and never having to worry about spending there again. I would recommend investing in a long term training plan, it isn't the only method to success in BB, but it is consistent and in my opinion more fun and rewarding building up your team through training and seeing your players improve week by week.

Good luck!

Thanks all for your feedback, i greatly appreciate it!

It's good to know i wont go bankrupt and will keep the arena prices rather high for the time being.

I might just buy a player or two if i can rather cheaply, and will then put the rest on the arena. If i can get it to around 20,000 i will be happy with that.

Do you think i should start doing 40K a week on Draft Points?

Also, this might be captain obvious, i didn't know it until recently, but in the 'community' tab you can see the league averages for arena size, attendance, gate receipts and merchandise per match day/week for each division.

Nooo ... Do not spend 40k/wk on draft points. It's not worth it. Stick to 10k/wk ... Do you have any draft points saved from previous seasons? Me, I've just kept it on 10k/wk since forever, most drafts I don't spend much if any, then when I do want to invest in the draft ... Right now I have well over 100 draft points, ready to go any season I drop down and get a high pick.

Even 28 points would hopefully be enough to find a diamond, with a little luck. Group demo to single scout 19 of them, and interview 9 5-ball prospects.

As for the community tab info ... It's something I've seen before, but I've never paid attention to it.

Failed to set a line-up today. I blame both the site and my body clock being messed up as of late. Moral of the story is that it pays to have a proper default set, as I just about got away with it tonight barring the loss of enthusiasm for the next few games.

I posted this in global suggestions, but not a lot of managers read global these days so I'll briefly mention it here too. I think the game would benefit from HCA being removed entirely. Whilst I have quit other online managers in the past for the results being too random, there are times in Buzzerbeater where it goes too far the other way, and an otherwise exciting matchup can be instantly called based on who has home court (see; most ABBL finals series). So I feel it might be time to scrap it. Thoughts?

I think HCA adds some realism to the game, without it the chances of an upset become less likely? Like everything in this game I think it probably needs a review as to how strong it is.

I agree. I think it has a place but seems to be a little overpowered to me so should be reviewed and potentially tweaked.
