After yet another season update with nothing from the new owners...now I'm reconsidering my opinion about whether BB is actually dying a slow death.

Not even a single sentence from the new owners...on anything...

Not good enough. With the money I pay as a supporter, the least I could get in return is to know this game isn't ending soon and that the new owners are actually doing something...anything!

???

Maybe they posted it on discord,. That what I told was that what being used to speak . I do find it counter productive.

But there is a season understanding of result on the front page.

If that's true...I might seriously walk away from BB. I have paid money as a supporter and they don't even care enough to communicate here in BB where the actual game is?! Seriously?!

The main thing for any business plan is talking to people (like with ads).
If there is no communication, rumors arise. And rumors generate uncertainty and distrust.

I cannot understand how an Italian company, which are masters at selling anything, can make such novice mistakes.

I agree there, but I would think the mods or Gm would be up in arms on discord usage instead of here.. It doesn’t seem like they are effected by it , less work to do with empty forums and free compensation .. This can also be seen a cost cutting methods for the new owners, using outsource platforms like Discord.

I’m into my 1st month here and it’s hundreds to thousands of closed threads, that’s not good for business either. How it almost 4-1 in open to closed threads discussion.

That would be the reason to use discord until they get a proper plan together to transform the dialogue flow better or better staff to moderate these forum better. That what it looks like somewhat.

New business owners usually get their own people, to control dialogue.

BB is indeed having a very slow death at this point. Owners have bought this IP but doesn't seem to prioritize. As a developer myself, I have my own reservations about timelines and project expectations. They must have thought this as well, that BB won't be on heavy decline for about a decade and will take their time with this one. The mindset probably is that users here has a tolerance for waiting so might as well take advantage of that. I have my speculations why it's taking so long though.

If the new management really cared about BB, the problem might be infrastructure cost. I don't know where the servers are located. I could only speculate the amount of data this game has built over decades of simulating games. They might be having a hard time with managing that.

But if I just glanced at this game, the first thought I would think if I want to improve is to implement cron jobs. Then alerts. Then performance optimizations. Then code leaks. Then the BBAPI. Certainly not the UI. That would be the last or the middle. If this game is monolithic from the start then I would start with decoupling API from UI.

The thing is were losing members. We should be making some noise to maintain that. But they're not. The goal should be to maintain then advertise. We're not and they're not doing that. I want to trust that they're competent enough to know the right architectural and business decisions with this game and I'm going to still wish that we won't have to jump ship or create another Buzzerbeater.

It's also summer and vacations, less users register. I wouldn't pay this number that much attention at the moment.

The real question is: will the "total BB recostruction" be completed first, or will the old, loyal users die of old age first?
