I like the idea of the all-star game and understand the logistical reason for having it. What I would like to see is that having players in the game were to have an effect on the rest of the game.

Surely a small boast in merchandise revenue for teams that have players in the game (and the 3 point shoot out) could be included. It would surprise me if there was not an added interest among fans in buying a player's jersey if they are an "all-star".

Just a thought...

With the little boost od merchandise it should be more explained how allstar voting is done so that managers can fight for having players in allstar game. Only thing I know at the moment that every player is involved for voting at position where he played the most minutes in league game at current season. But I don't know why some players beat the others on particular position.

Fot 3pt contest are players qualified mainly according to amount of made three pointers, 3PT% is not important (we can agree or disagree but it has been designed that way).
Stats of your league participants are 43-99, 44-103, 35-94, 64-177, 34-76, 41-118. The lowest number si 34 and he scored only 22 three pointers.

Well I'm against boosting merchandise for participants. Mainly because winning teams have few players in the all-star game, as their roster is better, and player stats are not that impressive. For instance my player who has made 22 three pointers out of 43 (if I remember correctly), and has accuracy of 51 percent is not even in the 3pt contest.

to be a winning team and having all stars ain't impossible, and even if you are balanced(i have a nomination in every categorie and 3 all stars), If you manage to play your stars betwen 60-70 minutes in league, which should be possible without a long and taff cup run you even get the advantage of the extra visitors through your succes(number of visitors play a role in the election).

It isn't impossible but it shouldn't be a crap shoot like it is now where the winning teams can sometimes be disadvantaged by not having many allstars so therefore no rewards should come out of it.

Not that I am complaining but I will use my team as an example. I am currently 11-2 and share the top record in my league but I only managed 1 all star and he is voted in as a backup. And to show how much of a crap shoot it is, my player's ratings is better than the guy that is starting. Also voting has it that the other starters for my team didn't even make the top 4 list for their respective positions in allstar voting.

This is a division 2 league competition and all owners are active. It is second toughest league in Australia behind the ABBL.

In regards to the issue, this is because the lower ranked teams tend to be stacked with one or two great guys surrounded by more average players while the more successful teams are more balanced hence less of a reliance on one of two players. I find teams that go for balance rather than one superstar to be punished in terms of all star selection. Since this is all an arcade game and doesn't affect anything, I am cool with it. But certainly you can not start punishing the more successful teams for not having the right "kind" of all star player

I think the problem is how all-stars are selected. Perhaps not in the top leagues, but in the mid to lower leagues some teams manage minutes well, other teams throw their starters out for every game, which in my opinion is not a sound stategy. Basically teams are punished for managing their team, minutes, training, and game shape well.

Instead of per game stats and/or season totals being important for voting, I think per 48 should be weighed heavier, with a (lower) minimum minutes played. Rating should figure in as well so a player playing out of position all season for training wont become all-stars. Like...say...a 200k center starting at PG in the AS game.

Not sure how exactly the voting goes, but it seems heavily weighted towards per game stats.
