I was so happy last week because of all the green arrows that I kind of forgot to write a recap of our last game of the three-game-series against England. We lost by -25. Again. So at least we didn't get worse in comparison to the first game. And since we also had a couple of younger guys play more minutes, I'd count that as improvement!
back to the green arrows. Somerled Spens didn't have the best GS, but had two (!!) green arrows which make him better and I sure hope that there are still more to come to make him a leading player for the next 6-8 seasons. Also because his GS did improve overall. That's why the game took place in his home-arena!
Brian Tweedie got his 100th TSP last week. Amazing! That's why he got some minutes (also because of his great GS). It might be his last season on the NT, even one of his last games. But his OD is still the highest on the team. Conclusion: we need way more defense on both ends of the floor. More OD. And of course everything from the frontcourt players.
Lyle and Fitchy are getting better every week (also green arrows again this week). That's great! Lyle also got the knack for his GS. Whereas Fitchy is only getting a couple of minutes now because he is producing green arrows. We need them in perfect GS almost every game. And if not at GS 9, then an 8. But since the highlander already started to get the minutes up for them, that'll only be a matter of time. And maybe also get a sports psychologist lvl 2-4, not too expensive and helping keep GS high as well...
This week Kevin Duffy finally got an up after a season of training. It's questionable if he makes the team next season because he hasn't improved a lot and the young guys are training way faster. But we'll see.
MacShimes got two ups this week. He is on the way to become a great LI-Guard for the team. But he also needs way more defense like everyone. So it's still a work-in-progress ...
MacGillonie got a double down in OD. So he is quite unlikely to come back next season. Only reason to have him as a backup is his constantly high GS.
David Doles is still too good to be retired but without high GS, he's unlikely to play a lot. But I'll keep him on the roster - otherwise he can get fired and then he'll retire for sure because no one will pay 500k for him.
Rory MacChlerich is still the best player on the team. But almost never in anything close to good GS. Last week he was ok and scored 38 points. So he'll be a part of the team next season to help occasionally, even if he gets a couple of downs he's too good to ignore. Would just be great if we could use him more. On the other hand: that leaves more minutes for Lyle & Co.
Today we play against Belarus on neutral court. Not much to say. We'll lose and I hope, the players get some more experience in order to get better and be able to beat Belarus in a couple of seasons ...
