Ben Simmons is the very pinnacle of enlightenment I'm taking full on blast up your ass so fast, 2020 Olympic gold medal here we come!

You are going to play for Australia again, right Ben?

Also, Marcus Smart is a very curious case. Field goal percentage in the 20's, true shooting percentage of below 40, yet the numbers indicate that he makes Boston better just by being on the court. His Plus/Minus per 48 right now? +13.6!

Still early days, but it looks like the Bulls are going to win the "Dumpster Fire for Doncic" race. Maybe fate can throw you guys a bone after cruelly taking Rose away. Actually now that I put it that way I'm pretty sure the Bulls have a 100% chance of obtaining the 1st overall pick this year, seeing as though the draft lottery is rigged :P.

You'd take Doncic over Bagley from Duke? Or don't see Bagley as a fit for the Bulls because of Markkanen? Bulls already have young PG in Dunn and combo in Lavine, not sure if another ball handler would work.

I'm biased against the college system and towards players named Luka. It's going to be a highly contested decision between Doncic, Bagley, and Ayton all season unless one goes even further beyond, but keep in mind that Doncic is doing it against professional players, rather than amateurs; skilled players yes, but ultimately amateurs.

Also, no player on the Bulls, or the Hawks barring Schroder, is safe from being replaced if the incoming talent is strong enough. Many of them are barely above D-League quality.

I must have reverse jinxed the Bulls because they just won three in a row and made me eat metaphorical crow. They're ruining the glorious tank!

Make that 4 in a row. But next 3 are Bucks, 76ers and Cavs. Normal service will be resumed

Or you could win some more and drop to 4th in the tank race. If I was you I wouldn't know whether to treat Nikola Mirotic like a god for turning this team around, or beg Bobby Portis to punch him again so that this tank can get back on track.

After those early season surprises, regression to the mean appears to have set in, for better or worse. The Pistons had a losing streak after being 14-6, the Magic completely fell off after their fast start, whilst the Cavaliers and Warriors sorted themselves out after slow starts.

However, we still have the Celtics minus Hayward defending top spot in the East, whilst the Pacers and Knicks look like geniuses selling fools gold to a Thunder team that hasn't performed up to par. Kanter and especially Oladipo turned out to be pretty big pieces to lose, and it's nice to see new stars like Oladipo emerge in the East to keep some level of parity intact.

But the Thunder still aren't out of the title picture just yet. They're 8-3 this month and that has gotten them back above .500. Their starting 5, even with Carmelo, is a top defensive unit on paper, and that has translated to them having the 2nd best defensive rating in the league so far. The blueprint for a contender was and still is there.

Whilst no regular season season game is truly must-win unless you're on the play-off bubble late, these next 10 games are fairly important ones for OKC, as now they need to prove to the world, and to themselves, that their early season woes are truly a thing of the past.

I can get paid to shitpost about a league I only follow statistically? I would watch the games but they haven't been on freeview for years, and the league pass isn't a good investment until I can get off of my current limited bandwidth arrangement.

EDIT: make that 9-3 for OKC in December, though they probably should have beaten the Hawks by more considering that they now lead the tank race.
