immatriculate
yeah I go immatriculate my car in Italy next.

On a serious note
On a serious note some humility will do you good.

PS: Lemonshine won the relegation in S23...never missed playoffs, hm? Even though this probably was similar to my first season joining last place at the end of the season you lied.
In before Perpete again shows somebody (in this case you, for the avoidance of doubt) that I took the team when all the competitive games were already played including the relegation ones. You relegated even after that...in the dreaded DIV that Trainerman keeps saying you should win blindfolded, handcuffed and under the influence of sedatives.

Sigh. Just use some common sense on top of humility, I beg you. Did you really think that I would go around chastising you for not having an "immatriculate" English track record, sorry game track record, while being in the same boat as you??? I mean you actually got confused and thought for a second that I am like you, because that's what you did???

Oh my, you dig out a post from last week that was not even aimed at you to boast your immatriculate track record while claiming not to do just that?
Was out for 2 weeks for work in Italy and Romania. Hopefully, you can comprehend how someone might have 97 unread posts from a thread while on a business trip. That includes the silly ones like the one I replied to.

Oh, and for the record your post was not directed at you either. Does that make us partners in crime? Shall we agree to not do this again, especially if we're not irreprehensible ourselves? Thank you for understanding.

Not to jar all the passengers in this thread too much by attempting to steer the bus back onto the road, but I picked up a Utopia player in the draft who will be quite nice in terms of measuring how he does as his SB is higher than his ID for the next several seasons. He's a classic big man, terrible guard skills (except OD of 6), and then ID 7 and SB 8. I'm scheduled to train SB first thing this season for couple of my older dudes, and so this new guy (let's call him Juan Miguel, because that's his name), will be fairly ferocious going after blocks right away as a backup center. I have a feeling he's going to be foul prone, but we shall see.

Can't help it. I read through 97 comments of this and although I did reply to Mike (then deleted it), a comment which is personal and is clearly demeaning towards the other person is a low blow. And if that's allowed, so are my replies. You could have helped it though, Manon. You could have written this post or something along these lines when the first stone was cast...

So what now? Do you want to go back to debating whether SB scales or not? You want to debate with BB King whether he has a point in saying that the people theorizing SB can be successful at the top level should prove it by winning? The truth is Haek played a total of 30+8 competitive minutes for Germany this season despite the fact that Nachtmahr is in the NT staff. In the game where he played 30 minutes he had an individual 12.5 rating and surely Germany's defence did not shine, as they allowed their highest number of points for the season to their opponents (including 74 in the second half). Ultimately you will need more than words and opinions to prove that SB works at the top level and at lower levels:
1) you enjoy substantial and long term success with a team built that way, since it's 'so cheap' and 'so effective' and 'trains so fast'
2) you prove it mathematically. And to be honest the number of blocks/game isn't gonna cut it. You need to consider how rebounding and FG% change with sacrificing skills to boost SB. The equation -2RB=+10SB is equally simplistic. Probably we should account for the time it takes to train some many more levels? I agree that SB is relatively cheap but it does not train so much faster than the other skills. We all understand it's a trade-off, but there are several variables at stake, not just the block % or blocks/game improving while you're not sacrificing anything.

I personally have a big man which is similar to one of Germany's NT big men who hit the market a couple of seasons ago. Hopefully he will be better than him when capped. However to be honest I am not sure whether this guy will be able to perform well and give me the edge at the highest level, I will have to see for myself.

Keep in mind that LI itself became popular and more people trained for it because people succeeded using that tactic and skillsets. If Nachtmahr had gone up while building for SB instead of down or if you or Captainteemo had gone further into the B3, you would be having a different discussion altogether right now.

So the bottom line is that we have mostly theories not backed by hard data. The whole 'in a better team against better opponent the effect would be higher' is mostly theory. Germany got killed by Switzerland when they started Haek and used a zone D, so certainly you can't point to that kind of game for proof. Haek himself is not a very good example of a SB build. Being so unbalanced, you need to add a million conditions for him to be successful and for people to build around him. And if he really was better than elite players I'd think he would play regularly for his NT (where you can surround him with properly selected players).

In the end, I do hope you're right in your opinions since my main kid is a shotblocker, but I do worry that this way is not more effective than high DR/IS and other LI sets and that at some point they will change the GE to curb LI for good and nobody knows what's going to happen then: you might win the lottery or get screwed.

I humbly admit that my english is not immaculate.
I also have no problems to admit a mistake should someone else provide convincing arguments.
You, however, provide none.

There are two possibilities for your reply:
A: i was indeed out of line and the reprimand neccessary (nobody else seemed to think so, including the person i replied to) or
B: You see it as your divine mission to put others that violate the rules you imposed on everyone else into their place by making them aware of your moral and intelectual superiority.

Your reply fits into B:

If someone laughes at you you can reinflate your scratched ego by:
1. Make fun out your opponents shortcomings like foreign language skills - check
2. Repeat your statements, the more often you do it the more true they become - check
(some humility would be good for you too)
3. Ignore all arguments, they just distract from your mission - check
4. The rules you set for others dont apply for yourself - check
(derogative comments about a player someone trained for 11 saisons without offering any reason or point of view is much more demeaning in my book than a question about a trade deficit.
a comment which is personal and is clearly demeaning towards the other person is a low blow. And if that's allowed, so are my replies.
I wonder how you would have reacted if the player in question would have been one of yours...)
5. Your own experience is universally applicable to anyone else, research is just a waste of time - check
(The german fourth league i started in had 14 human managers, the playoff contenders had fully build arenas and 200k teams. I thought it more beneficial to invest in the draft, train and build my arena the first saisons than trying to force PO with some old players even though it now blemishes your idea of an immaculate track record)
6. Utter some gibberish to make the other one feel stupid when he does not get it - check
(what does: "Oh, and for the record your post was not directed at you either. Does that make us partners in crime? Shall we agree to not do this again, especially if we're not irreprehensible ourselves? Thank you for understanding." even mean?
My post was not directed at me? No, i dont tend to soliloquies)

Sorry for being offtopic again @everyone

On topic:
It is a pity that Heak does not consistently play in the team setting he was made for, that would give much more info than some NT minutes.

he will be foul prone not because of SB, but rather because of the face he was born with. The scowl sporting fellows were born with a tendency to foul. I will have the same challenges with the hairless wonder I drafted.

I agree. He has a fouling face, for sure.
But check out this terrified draftee from my main team.

Based on his face, I'm pretty sure he'd rather hide behind the scorer's table than go into the game when called upon.

Are you speaking of Humberto as the hairless wonder? Come on, man, he's still got some hair. You're going to make him self conscious.
