Picked up a solid win against Kazakhstan this week, 147 to 86.
It was a good, solid team effort. Team captain McFlynn got busy in the early stages while "Open" Dawes lived up to his name with a blistering performance from the bench to keep the pressure on our starters.
Anyone Aussie manager who watched the game or who wants to give an opinion on who led the way is welcome to drop a line here with their thoughts on a 3, 2 and 1 in terms of a Most Valuable player. So far it's a tight race, with three guys within one vote of each other and a second pack not too far behind.
Bigger test coming up this week against Indonesia so hopefully all of our blokes are in tip-top shape. Tune in Monday night for what should be a much closer game.

If you think you've got an Aussie guy on your roster that's around the mark, send his stats through to me and I'll add him to my watchlist. There is still some room on the roster when the right guy in the right shape comes along.

Disappointing loss to Indonesia tonight - our first loss of the campaign, going down by three points in the closing minutes after leading for most of the match.
Solid performances from Unzi and Duffield, while Hongjing and Gibbins both played their roles well without really hitting their heights we expect of them.
While this might have been a win that got away as a squad we're still in really good shape and will get through this stage regardless, so it all becomes about how we set ourselves up for the next pool.
Would love to hear the thoughts of anyone in the community about the 3, 2, 1 from the game.
Also welcome any feedback about prospective players for the squad. The National side belongs to the nation, after all.

Ok, our first game of the second stage wasn't ideal. We went with Taiwan for a half but then the Game Engine did a number on us for no explainable reason and we took a heavier than expected loss. We're still in ok shape but that makes it a little harder. We'll be looking to bounce back when we take on our neighbours from over the ditch, New Zealand, on Monday night. We're looking forward to a decent clash against a plucky side.

The National side still has a couple of spots open on the roster for the right candidate. If you've got a guy who you think is getting close to being in the mix message me his skills and I'll see where he fits.

Thanks mate! Obsess and upwards. Oddly following that loss we rebounded back up to 19th in the rankings, so at least we’re back in the top 20 again.

Thanks mate, it wasn't to be tonight. A bad GDP by me and a very good one by them made the difference - plus an all time worst ever performance by Hongjing really didn't help.
Playing for third now in next week's game. Should have definitely finished higher than that but we were just outplayed tonight.

Season 51 and our run at the Asian Cup sees us finish just short of the mark, realistically one win away from the semis. A little disappointing, but I think I've learned some things to help take us forward. Some poor game shape here and there at key times didn't help our chances.
Time to get busy preparing for next season. If you've got a player you think is around the mark message me his up to date skills and I'll have a look over the next few weeks.

In what was a tightly contested MVP race for most of the season it was our bigs who fought it out at the end, with Dawes getting over McFlynn in the final live match of the tournament for the Aussie side.

Dawes: 3, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 3, 2 = 19 votes
McFlynn: 3, 1, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 2 = 18 votes
Hongjing: 2, 1, 3, 1, 1, 3, 1, 3, 1 = 16 votes
Grunter: 2, 2, 1 = 5 votes
Unzi: 3, 1 = 4 votes
Gibbins: 3 votes
Omu: 3 votes
Helo: 3 votes
Duffield = 2 votes
Bill = 2 votes
Sage = 2 votes
Newman = 1 vote

Congratulations to Canadian manager Csislander on keeping Dawes in ripping shape pretty much all season to get to the MVP and to Whitey for getting two guys in the top 4.

Ok, we start our repechage stage of the World Cup in the early hours of Tuesday morning. We don’t have the easiest draw with our three games, starting with Peru and followed by the Czech Republic - both of which are tough games.
There’s some good pressure building on the National Squad, thanks to the training efforts of many, many trainers. With depth starting to build it is essential managers keen on their player being on the team to keep that player in quality game shape. After this week good will be good, but proficient will be better.

While I’ve scoured a number of prospects over the last two weeks, and some of may have seen one of your players go on and off the roster, I may have missed some trainable players do always feel welcome to BB mail me the skills of a guy you think is a potential future player.
If I did put your guy on and take him off again that doesn’t mean he’s not going to get a chance - I’ve deliberately left roster spots open for players who develop mid season.

Looking forward to have a crack at my first World Cup, even though it’s a hard climb from where we’re starting.

Let’s get cracking!

And merry Christmas to the Aussie community, stay safe over the coming weeks and ball hard!

Coach Deano
