But I think I have to keep to my strategy for next season.

I agree with this approach, Being disciplined will bring you success.

Only 2 big men on the NT in good GS...
Kaname Kouzuki strong.
Hirofumi Sonoda proficient.

Yes, thanks to you we weren't starting guards at PF. The biggest thing I've learned in the NT roles is how big an impact GS has on the teams performance. I'm not sure other NT managers recognize this as much.

National Team Press Release

Season 19 Wrap

After an expected 130-102 loss to Australia with a much depleted roster our season ends at 5-6, a significant improvement from the 2-4 record we had in the last Asia tournament. Despite losing the game our ranking improved two points to 47. In fact, despite losing the last 4 games our ranking improved 10 points over the course of those games. I think this means that while losing we were still performing well relative to our ranking. (Maybe, but I don’t really know how the formula works).

Worth notice, 2 of the teams we beat early in the season (Australia and Philippines) are playing each other in the Semi-finals. I’m guessing Australia will win and I will be rooting for them in the finals.

And, in reference to the title of this thread, I think we can officially say the program has been resurrected, but you guys tell me what you think. Next is to work on building and improving for the future.

As I mentioned in my last post, I think a good long term goal for Nippon is to surpass New Zealand and Malaysia in the rankings. I will set goals for next season once I see our draw, but of course let’s hope to advance to the playoff round.

I will start preparing for the next season from now and will take a look at all the prospects for the team and see how they’ve progressed. There are a couple I have in mind to bring onto the team and there may be some other surprises as well. I think I will carry a

Brilliant work. When you have few choices about players and then some of them are injured or in bad GS it can be hard to progress as well as we may have hoped, but I think everyone will agree you did the best in the circumstances as well as keeping everyone informed and interested. Sonada will be back and KK hopes to be although he knows at age 33 his days will be numbered soon. I do plan to make sue my next trainer has career extention so I hope that will help.

Well done!

I think KK would keep his spot until his skills start slipping or someone else like Yasujiro overtakes him. I'll be making evaluations on roster soon.

Do you want me to keep you posted on Matsumoto's progress too? I intend on him EVENTUALLY making the NT, so perhaps some input from you would be appropriate...

Since there is a chance I will be U-21 manager next season....all I want from Matsumoto is good GS, some handling pops. Other than that...it's up to you...
