Thank you for electing me for another term at the helm of the Nippon U21 team!

Yesterday we defeated #4 France in a friendly 96-82(46203). It wasn't their best team, but wins are always nice. I will make the final decisions on the initial team this Friday, and will be contacting managers regarding their training plans during this week.

We began the season with a 104-59 win over Vi?t Nam(46160). Taira led us in points at 22, Inaba and Oyanagi both had 14 rebounds, and Satou dropped 10 assists. Stats are a little skewed since we hit garbage time with a couple minutes left in the 3rd quarter. We will next face Lubnan who most recently fell to Australia 105-83.

It sure wasn't pretty, but it is a win. We defeated Lubnan 92-81(46164) to improve to 2-0 in the first group of Asias. Bad Game Shape and an early injury kept the game closer than it should have been. Inaba led all scorers with 24 points and also had a game-high 23 rebounds. Nakao, Matsuoka, and Akimoto also scored in double-digits in the win.

We are off this next week so I will work on getting a scrimmage. After that, we return to group play against Pakistan who is currently 0-2.

We fell last week in our scrimmage to Venezuela who was ranked 15 by a score of 74-57(46637). Matsuoka scored 22 while Oyanagi had a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. We fell to rank 29.

Today in pool play, we defeated Pakistan 103-58(46170) to improve to 3-0. Oyanagi(15 points, 14 rebounds) and Inaba(13 points, 13 rebounds) both had double-doubles for us.

We will next play Prathet Thai who is 2-1.

We improved to 4-0 with a 97-89 overtime win over Prathet Thai Monday(46172). To be honest, I was extremely busy over the past week and did a quick lineup on Sunday that worked just enough. Nakao led us in scoring with 44 while Matsuoka poured in 18. Oyanagi(18) and Nagata(15) both had double-digit rebounds.

We will next face U.A.E. who is 1-3 in the pool.

We defeated U.A.E. 93-55(46175) to improve to 5-0 in the group Monday. Four players scored in double figures, including Nakao who led all scorers with 26. We will close out the first group next week against undefeated Australia. We are guaranteed to finish first or second in the group and will advance no matter the outcome.

We fell to Australia 79-59(46177) to finish group play 5-1. This puts us in a second group with China, Malaysia, Iran, Taiwan, and Lubnan. That is also the order in which we will play them. This is the stronger of the two second groups, but I'm hoping for two wins out of this.

I also find it hilarious that we went 5-1 in the first group and my Manager Popularity fell to 50%. If anyone has an issue with how I've managed the team, I invite you to reply here or send a BB-Mail so your concerns can be heard.

We've gone 4-2 in the first group just 3 times ever, including my first season in Season 40. This season we did the best we've ever done at 5-1 and very easily could have been 3-3 instead.
