As the current Nippon U21 manager, I've decided to start a competition beginning in Season 42 and continuing every season that I am the manager. Going forward, any player that a current owner has trained for at least 1 season that leads the team for the season in Points, Rebounds, Assists, or Minutes will receive either 3 months supporter or 1-year second team. Also, anyone that makes the team and suits up for a game will be eligible for a random drawing to receive either of those awards.
The only other stipulation is that the only managers eligible are those from Nippon and USA. The reason for this is that I want Nippon managers to have a hand in the success of this team. The reasoning for American eligibility is because that is where I am from, and I have friends currently helping to train Nippon players.
The current roster of 9 players has 2 owned by an American and 2 owned by Nippon managers. That needs to change and will. There are 17 players in the current pipeline of 20s, with 8 USA owned and 5 Nippon owned. For the other 2 classes it is 5 USA and 9 Nippon out of 16 19s, and for the 18s it is 3 American and 8 Nippon of the 12. Overall, American and Nippon managers hold 38 of the 45 players I'm watching in the pipeline. This contest should serve to further incentivize those managers to train those players to the best of their abilities.
