I am preparing for a Look Inside team that in will be playing in several week and I was looking for some advice. Overall I have better players but this team has been overplaying their talent levels due to LI and I want to ensure I do not get bit by him. I have read a decent amount on this subject already and I know that it can be overpowered but I was hoping that if I offer some info about my team I could consider some of the suggestions.

My guards have OD that can greatly overpower his guards. Most of my big guys are either 9-10 ID with very good rebounding or 11-12 ID with lower rebounding. His Inside guys have offensive skills that are likely comparable to the ID of my guys.

I am thinking that I should play 3-2 to create some turnovers on his guards and play my higher rebounding guys to take advantage on the boards.

Does SB have much effect on LI? Would a PF or SF with 10 ID and 4 SB defend better than a PF with 7 ID and 7 SB?

Any and all suggestions or opinions would be appreciated.

Welcome to season 24 of Buzzerbeater where this question has still yet to be answered.

The BB powers have hinted that high SB in a 2-3 zone can slow down LI. That said, the evidence that this may actually work is almost non-existent.

Yeah, with SB being so ineffective in the past it is tough to find players with a sufficient enough SB skill to test it out. It will likely take a few seasons until we start seeing more players with the skill in order to evaluate its effectiveness.

Bow your head, pray to God. Ask for mercy.
Seriously, if you have more talent than your only option is to outscore him. Also if his guards sick, you could try to ramp up the OD and force turnovers.
SB can help defend against interior offense but SB levels are too low across the board. You need a guy with a high calibrr of BOTH ID and SB to defend the monster LI. No teams have this or can afford to have this.

Instead of thinking about defence tactics, shall we think of offense tactics to address this issue.

Let's try "Push the ball" to maximum your scores or try "Patient" to improve the FG% ...

PS: Meanwhile, let's keep training SB ...

SB isn't the only skill affecting the outcome of the opponents inside scores. We know that that Inside defense is the major skill which describes your ability to defend other players and SB alters the shooting percentage to a certain degree. But what use do we have of high ID and SB if many successful shots are made uncontested ?
Outside Defense on big guys is often highly neglected and it could further decrease your opponents shooting percentage.
High OD on big guys will give them higher chances to intercept passes and will force your rival a tougher shot or better a turnover.
Just keep this in mind;)

There's a lot of exaggeration about the dominance of LI, it's popular and easy to build for, not superior. I won 2 USA cups with less ID than your team has, with man to man and your typical offense (if you do in fact have the more talented team) you'll be fine.

Cosign what SM said. I remember a game a while ago when I was just starting up against a team that was dominant inside but bleh everywhere else. All I did was try to outscore them by playing Push the Ball and Man to Man. I did not even bother using 2-3 because I felt I could outscore them. So set your formation and pray for the best
