I am up against a team that hasn't logged in for a few weeks. He will run a 2-3 zone, and will thus dominate inside and on the boards. Luckily, I have decent outside shooters and good passers at C and PF.

I figure that my only chance is to jack up a lot of outside shots and not worry that he will pull down every missed shot. The question is: given my good passing all around, should I play RnG or Princeton? My first thought is Princeton since I want a slower offense to minimize missed shots. Is that correct?

Cheers!

i ahve always trouble a bit to get princeton to work, and i have also a quite good passing team and very good shooting bigs, which is often the guidline for it in the forum.

So it is difficult which tactic would work for you best, princeton focus also a bit on shots near the basket which is something you don't want to use so maybe i would go for RnG with your choiches but testing how your team works with different tactics from time to time isn't a bad idea too.

I would try motion if I was you.

With my team in a motion my three small players shoot the most.
While for princeton my PF gets the amount of shots, my pg gets.

So for me, Motion, PG,SG,SF shoot the most.
For Princeton, SG,SF,PF shoot the most.

So for me, Motion works better against a 2-3 zone.

Run and Gun, has one downfall in my eyes that it shoots too fast. So there could be still a defender on the shooter, while in a motion, mostly they will play one shooter free.

Good luck and I am curious what you will do and what the result will be.

Only in the dark, we succeed!

Thanks for the advice, but it convinced me to go with Princeton because my PF is better than my PG.

Interestingly, tonight I played R&G (which supposedly has the same shot selection as motion, just with more 3pt attempts).
My PG took 2 3pt attempts, my C took six. And most of his shots tended to be from the perimeter.
Bizarre stuff.

Played with Princeton and won. Though my result probably had more to do with a functional 2-3 zone than my choice of offense. I noticed that my team took a lot of driving layups in the paint and that my PF was pretty effective (which is bizzare because he has good jumpshot but bad range).
