NEEDED: any McGyverisms available to get the team out of this early season mess!

Even though the Rouge et Or started slowly last season, and still made it all the way to the Division 3.8 finals, only to go down in flames in three games to the Mighty Green Machine, things are not looking good so far. Now, obviously a lot of that has to do with the trading away of their two best players in Rodrigo “Buzzerbeater” Brenta, and “Can’t remember his first name” Sobolak. But come on, this is Buzzerbeater and you got to pick up the pieces quickly and get back on the proverbial horse. Just can’t let those lonely French supporters down.

This season has a different feel to it. With a couple of younger recruits on board to replace the aforementioned dynamic duo, will the team at least make a respectable season out of this, or regress back to that lonely and uneventful dungeon known as Division 4? One thing is for sure; GM Morwood has a new favourite guard duo he aptly named the Pang(sg) and Wang(pg) show. If Wang can get his HEAD on straight, this unit could surprise. Even if they don’t, well they still have a catchy name…

At PF he’s no philosopher, but PLUTOnis has already started to impress the coaching staff. He brings a bit more of a defensive approach then Master Sobolak, but he’ll have to do a lot of “Waxing on and Waxing off” to graduate from grasshopper to true Master status. The Rouge ET Or still boast one of the wiley veterans, in savvy old Viking Dogovic. Just hearing that name says “that guy must wear horns”. Still on the squad as well, is developing big man Antonio “man I wish I had game like Banderas” Prego. One thing is for sure, he is saucier than that pasta sauce that Andrea Bargnani advertises. He could combine with Plutonis to form the most solid TWIN TOWERS duo since the Admiral (David Robinson) and Timmy D (Duncan). If that’s the case, we might as well have Poppovich fly into Quebec to share his philosophies with the youngsters, while sipping on some of his vintage wines that seem to perk up the old Spurs on occasion.

Red is on the horizon…Will that be the colour of the blood left over by the Rouge et Or’s prey? Or will it be the colour of that represents the sinking of the Rouge et Or’s Battleship?

Stay tuned sports fans…
