Season 17 has begun and once again the Grizzly Adams are looking ready for a championship run. Rochester had a very busy off-season with arena expansion and player pickups. The team went out and acquired All Star big man Karol Gomba and Hubert Samuel as the ever important posistion of Momos backup. Returning to the team are Arie-Jan Bevers and Team leader/sengbears third child Momo Dekel. But the team also had to say good bye to the likes of Daryl Friend, and last years leading rebounder Abdul Benhaim. League V.37 is looking more competitive than it has in recent years with the emergence of heat 5768 and Soul Legends. But even with these teams in the mix the Grizzly Adams still look like the favorite. The season started out with a bang with a 103-93 win in the inaugural Mega Bowl between the Compton Nerds and the Rochester Grizzly Adams. The game was close with Rochester only leading by One at the half. After a inspiring Tim Tebow like speach at halftime by Momo Dekel the team came out and took a 18 point lead going into the final two minutes of the game. Thats when the Nerds new SG Rami Klinger drained back to back to back threes to bring his team within Nine. Compton then had to resort to fouling to keep the game close. Rochester only missed two Free Throws in the final minute to seal the game. The team was lead by Arie-Jan Bevers 32 points and 16 rebounds and Sibin Mujanovic's 19 points and 11 assists. The Team also threw their first Preseason party after the Mega Bowl. At the party sengbear stood on the top of the arena which he named after himself and shouted "FINISH THE MISSION." Which is the teams season 17 motto. Celebrities in attendance at the party to name a few were Tim Tebow, Brian Scalabrine, PeeP Lightning, Adam T and the life of the party,The artist fomerly known as T-Flab.
