Follow that Season 38! An exciting season 37 saw the red side get very English, with each team insisting their opponent win this week and the entire conference ending up with an identical 11-11 record while the blue side gouged each other to bits until the Wasps were the last men standing.

Well, not quite, but not far off the truth. In the end, it was the Erks who emerged from the pack to challenge the Wasps, leading to a memorable game 2 of the finals that saw triple OT decide that there would, after all, be a game 3. And the Wasps won that after controlling, if not quite dominating, the blue side for the second season running.

In the tournament, or 'cup' as we might call it, Vecx decided the Firemen trophy cabinet needed a fresh look and so quietly added his 4th cup to the display. Not bad for a rebuilding team helping its franchise star Innes polish up his retirement speech before he contemplates a new career as a Master Glazier. Yes, the inception of Luke Innes Glass Ltd cannot be far away but in the mean time the 35 year legend will lead the firemen in a quest for more silverware one more time.

Looking at the salaries, the Tallfellas somewhat bizarre decision to spend £5m on two veterans before a relegation series and so help the monkeys take a break from the EBBL sees them up to third in the salary table, although nearly 60% of that is on Osman and Big Mac, so probably not a true picture of a contender, more like a vivid example of extremely unbalanced roster construction. Gauson is this season's early big spender, which suggests there may be plenty of new twists in the tale ahead.

As well as a fond farewell to the Monkeys, we also said 'see ya later' to the unlucky Arab City, the unfiltered T20Cricketers and the unabashed Club Deportivo.

So here we go for Season 38 - and a warm welcome to the EBBL for the London Kings and a nod and a welcome back to the Camborne Crusaders, Leeds City Ballers and CWA Fury, who may or may not have mellowed a bit since they were last seen in these parts. Remember, this season six, oops make that five, of us relegate...

Let's talk cash... salaries as of time of post... there's quite a lot of rebuilding going on so no doubt it will look different next week...

Gausón $ 752 444
Bethnal Green Erks $ 741 087
LIDLTallfellas $ 723 540
Leeds City Ballers $ 619 783

Entertaining stuff! One quibble. I think five of us are relegating. The bottom team in each conference and then three through the play downs, which will be 5v7 6v6 and 7v5. Originally I think their original proposal was for six but they were forced into an embarrassing climbdown when someone pointed out how the extra promotion bonuses would cripple the economy. (You're welcome BB!)

Had to change my plans too in a sense. Adding Kuzniar last season, while it enabled me to shut teams down defensively (only Erkboy scored any points against me at all last season as I recall and it took him 7 quarters) his salary was too high to allow me to save enough money to buy another aging cripple to see me through this season.

So, I've had to attempt to revamp my roster in a hurry, while trying not to fall foul of the extra relegation spot. I think my salaries look ok atm, I'd like to add another starter so I can at least compete (I hate tanking!) but I'm almost hoping Kuzniar doesn't sell now.

Probably not finished selling but we'll have to see how successful I am finding someone to fill out my roster.

Apologies in advance to anyone I affect by fielding (or not as the case may be) trainees. Can't be helped and I don't do it with any malice.

Good luck to all, including but not exclusive to the new guys.

Oh, I voted for the Erks. Bit dirty voting for the other side but I think he's probably one transfer away from being on top.

Good luck one and all.

By the way, I just realised that Season 38 is the 30th consecutive EBBL season for the Tallfellas. That's a bit mad.

Last season of Innes being competitive probably. Sad but I'm so glad I got to keep him. I was wondering if anyone had any nickname suggestions for him.

Looks like the red side is a really beefed up conference this season. Good luck all!! Should be fun.

Doesn't really do him justice but 'Fries 2 Go' - to go with his long time training partner and sidekick Jezza 'Big Mac' MacAusland

Hi all, pleasure to be up in the EBBL with my mostly home trained team. Don't really have the time/energy/commitment to BB to make any sort of attempt to stay up this season though but it will be fun nonetheless. Good luck all with the season!

That's some achievement in itself.

Unfiltered !!

It's bad enough relegatin, but to be summarily labelled as unfiltered is below the belt, nay a clean blow in the jatz crackers...

It looks like everyone's running scared of me in II.3 - I'm kicking bottom big syle...

Anyway it's gonna be an easy season, whilst I concentrate on RL problems. But I'm gonna sell, build and FILTER out the dreggs...😤

Anyway, hope to be, sorry WILL be back in the EBBL next season, whence we'll be aiming to kick bottom against the Nescafe(FILTERED)Tallfellas, if we can extend our feet high enough to kick the 6'10" point guards butt (whachutalkinabout indeed, big hole in that FILTER), as for Big Mac we'll Be goin for the knees. It would have been nice to run rings round the Durham Demoters, Harlem Globetrotter style, but well just have to be content to rough up the Bethnell Green Rich Boys instead...

So apart from winning the England National Tournament this season it will be a quiet season for T20 cricketers. Unfiltered...
