Well what can be said of last season if not that it was a dramatic season of great change; with Tide of Fire winning each competition for the first time for the double, seeing The White Tigers go bot and veterans Los Minkitoes in a shock relegation final loss. Many games were closely fought and the competition at in the top league is more intense than ever. As always we welcome 4 new teams to the league, tradition has it that they will be in for a warm EBBL style welcome and we look forward to many more close fought games.

On the blue side we see newcomers beginning to spend big, with KD splashing big cash; but they need to, the competition is toughest here and there is as much pressure for 1st as there is for 6th. I am sure the Tallfella's will be keen to push for top spot again, M Dogs will be looking to capitalise on his playoff position last season, Galaxy looks to be positioning himself for another push for the title and Sabre's developing team is really starting to edge the competition coming very close to home court advantage in the first playoff last season; that leaves Tide with stiff competition if he wishes to take top spot again.

On the red side we see an increasingly close competition last season with very few wins separating all the teams. Can DSA make it to the playoff final again or will A Dogs squeeze him out? Will we see the rapidly rising lemons make a push for the playoffs in his first season? What will the red side do to combat the blue side dominance for the last few seasons?

Time, as always, will tell. Welcome to EBBL season 32, may the games begin!

As is tradition, feel free to vote for the team you feel is most likely to end this season champions. Apologies if your team name does not appear on the list, there are only 10 choices in a poll so they are chosen by performance last season, and salary investment and overall team condition at the start of this season.

Any idea on how 3 Red conference teams promoted from D2 and ended up in the Blue conference?

I don't think (but I haven't checked) it was random before. My first thought was that the promotion/relegation "rules" were tweaked so that the promoted teams were now randomly placed (it seems the relegated teams were treated as normal), in an attempt to rebalance the leagues where one conference was weaker than the other. (If this was the case, it would be doomed to fail, as it could just as easily strengthen rather than weaken a conference.) Given previous errors, like Utopia, Free Agency, training out of position, I didn't feel it was a stretch.

However, I've since considered that perhaps, since the team in question is the highest ranked of the promoted teams, perhaps they've decided to place the stronger promoted teams in the weaker conference. Presumably this would have to use the rankings, which aren't ideal, but better than nothing.

Or of course, it could just be an anomaly.

Its interesting though that Les Mousketeers stayed on the blue side.

I wouldn't expect too much from me this season, I wasn't expecting to get promoted. The players in my team are no where near god enough to compete in ths league.

I opened a bug forum and both Perpete and Marin claim it's completely random.

I do remember even Athrunzala saying in the game chat he was sure he would end up on the tough side of the Belgian D1 where Joemaverick was many seasons ago based on the red>red and blue>blue reasoning.
