Is it just me or did we get a really tough relegated team again this season? Why us?

How was everyone's draft? Mine looks fantastic right? $4,000 salary 18 year old 6'4' superstar. Couldn't be better right? Wrong! Look at that OD. But guess what, we may be mad but we are training him anyway. How often will you draft an 18 year old superstar. We are doing 8 weeks of pressure and if there is an elastic effect he should get at least 4 pops. So by the end of the season we hope he will look like a 19 year old superstar we would be wrapt to have drafted.

Yasushi Yokoyama (19825109) Power Forward
Weekly salary: $ 3 738
Age: 18
Height: 6'4" / 193 cm
Potential: superstar
Game Shape: respectable
Jump Shot: average Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: atrocious Handling: respectable
Driving: mediocre Passing: respectable
Inside Shot: respectable Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: mediocre Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: respectable Free Throw: awful

Yup, we got screwed over there... again. But - and no offense to Shibuya here - but I'll take him over Sharman 8 days a week!!!

And draftees:
Nice get. I have a $5252 18 year old star... I'll keep him, train him... and see how he goes. I need some bodies to fill out the scrimmages.
Finger's crossed.

That player must have great starting skills.

Well we were 3rd and 4th last season. I have my team for the season fairly set although I may still bring in a "cup specialist" for a while later. I wonder of either of us can step up and take down the powerful Shikoku Otaku or Sapporo Fighters and move into first or second? Can we also hold off TeamJapan and Terry Bogard? Our third seasons will be interesting ones, I am not ready to take the big plunge yet, still working on arena and getting my trainees up to a competitive standard. Maybe next season.

Kinda really only my second season. I came with a game left in S14, so my lot was well and truly cast by then (I picked up EASILY the worst team in II.1). I'm definitely not ready to take a plunge in anything, but when those big boys start pushing me, I'm ready to push a bit harder back.

And his skills are 'not bad'... pity he's only a star!

I think it's just you. I am glad Shibuya has come to our league and looking forward to a fun and challenging season 16.

Well the 4 relegating teams were

1) Tokyo Yahiro team a bot.
2) Higashikurume Lightning #12 in Nippon. Went to II.4.
3) shibuya #14 in Nippon went to us.
4) Kanazawa Kings #16 in Nippon went to II.3.

So I don't think it was just me, 3/4 of them were fairly tough and we got the second best, as close to average as possible.

When you look at his roster it is amazing compared to mine but nothing like Sharman. He has some great players but he paid a lot for them too.

Grégory Le Quère 65k paid $5,000,000.
Samuel Zavadil old 40k pf paid $2,000,000.
Martial Ginestet 35k old c $2,000,000.
Horea Radu 23k sg $2,000,000.
Chen Zhi Fu 15k pg $2,000,000.
Nicolás Ricard 15k sg $1,500,000.

But he has spent 6 of the last seasons in the JBBL so those players must be incredible with top secondary skills. Anyone with a $13,000,000 starting 5 seems scary to me.

Compare my starting 5.

Daisaku Kawaida $100,000 Bought season 1.
Noritada Konoe last years draft pick - free.
Jotaro Kinjo Original team player - free.
Lu Shuanghua $250,000. Bought season 2.
Martín Magallanes $175,000. Bought season 3.

Just over $500,000 for my whole starting 5. Quite a jump between teams like his and teams like mine even in my 3rd season (when I bought Martin).

You can't measure a team strength by how much he purchased his players. A good measure in strength is his income and current players salaries. It's true that Shibuya has a bigger arena than me and has not purchase anything since last year. This means he already has a big saving and can buy any strong players at the end of this regular season. Though, having looked at his transfer history, he did spend $50000000 on a 24-25 yo SG with only $64000 salary. This makes me curious and suspicious.

This will be my 3rd season, too. I joined in season 13 with 3 games left in the regular season. Although the team had a decent record, all the player got reset so I had to start over right before the playoff.

Season 16 should be a fun season. Sapporo has greatly improved his starting 5 toward the end of last season. Ramen and Shogun are catching up big time. Best of luck to everybody, at the eve of a new season!

Yes you are wise. I am very cautious and traditional. I keep my players and change them very little. I had my two imports for all of last season. Now I have two more for this season. For example my draft pick YY I have been really considering training him because he was my draft pick. If he wasn't my draft pick I would never train someone with atrocious OD. I have come to my senses and will sell him now even for $1, someone else can suffer the pain.

It is an exciting new season and I want more wins than last season's 14 wins but it may be difficult as several teams are better this season and we sold one of our three trainees as we could not abide his 6'9" slow training.
