If we give more money to the team, they will not keep it for those 3 weeks without home game, they will increase their payroll and still be left with no money in the end.

True. Having more money doesn't remove the need to manage it for the dry weeks.

I understand the OP's concern, having been surprised by the dry weeks myself in my first season, but I think the answer is managing your money.

I agree with this being an issue.

Could we not have a 50% discount on salaries on the week of the Big 8 vs Great 8 week? We get no compensation for this at all.

Or, if a discount is too over the top, how about just the TV Contract for that week being given to everyone in the league? It makes sense since your league's best players are playing in the league's all-star game. And it is fair since everyone in the league will get it and it will help cushion the impact of no income for that week.

I agree it is an "issue" of money management by each manager.

Great idea.

In fact, they do it already.

That's awesome. I didn't realize that that already happened.

Then, yeah, it's not really an issue. You just have to plan for it.

The All-star break week hindering your economy should at least be mentioned in the Game Manual on the All-Star Game and Economy pages. That way, instead of it being a surprise, you can just point to the place in the manual where it says it happens. As for the other two weeks when you don't get attendance, that may need to be noted somewhere in there as well.

Yes, I think some sort of notice would not be unreasonable. It is obvious when someone points out there are 11 home games in 14 weeks, but sometimes a newbie manager is probably up to his hips in details and might get blindsided by it the first time around.

It is true that the weekly profit in the economy doesnt factor in that their are only 11 home games in an 11 week season, it also should be remembered that the "weekly profit" figure doesnt include cup winnings.

I agree it shouldnt be a problem for the seasoned managers but I can understand how it would catch out new managers.

perhaps an extra line could be included in the economy.

Underneath weekly profit an extra line could be included that is titled "seasonally adjusted" weekly profit or loss, that factors in the extra weeks without income.

Downside of this is that experienced managers like myself mightnt be able to benefit from the fire sales that the inexperienced and or financially stupid Managers have to have.

Market is too hot at the moment with teams trying to increase the depth of their rosters to counter the death of LCD, so perhaps we could bring forward the Allstar week

Agree with Manon. All teams play under the same set of circumstances. In a given season you have the same number of economic updates and home games as any other team. It's your responsibility to plan accordingly.

But not all homegames are equal. Having a homegame on the first Saturday and having one on the last Saturday are not equal at all because there are games on that last Tuesday but not on the Tuesday before the 1st game of the season.. Starting the season on a Saturday is stupid and has been bitched about since at least season 7.Most people think that it would only be fair that the season start on the Tuesday so every team has a homegame during the first economic update.
