So sad when someone passes away at such a young age. Life really is a precious gift, we should never take anything for granted. Rest In Peace Lisa (Kumiko).

As for the tournament, i am all for re-naming it the "Kumiko Memorial Tournament". It would be a really nice tribute to someone who gave so much to this game.

I'm totally shocked by this as well. There wasn't always a tonne of people watching the games, but you knew 9 times out of 10 Kumiko would be there making small talk in chat. She livened up the forums and chat rooms with her humor and passion and helped build the BB Canada Community into what it is today. Best wishes to her family and friends.

I fully agree with naming the Tournament (or something else significant to BB Canada) in her honor. She spent a lot of time during her final days here on this site and interacting with everyone. She was totally engaged with her online simulation basketball teams. She definitely deserves some sort of recognition for her efforts, untimely death or not. RIP

Omg Kumiko is gone. I'm really stunned, rest in peace. I really enjoyed chatting with you, really bummed that I wasn't active recently, so I can chat more with you before this happened....... Everyone pretty much know I live under a rock, because I found out someone passed away by noticing the name of the tournament. *sigh* :(

Just saw this. Very saddened. She was a fun opposing coach for U21 games and seemed a sincerely nice person in mail and chat. Best wishes to her family and friends.

Group hug!

truly a shock and devastating news. Kumiko, Lisa, was always friendly and engaging. She will truly be missed. RIP Lisa, and my condolences go out to Craig.
