Someone pointed this club out to me earlier today...

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/39392/overview.aspx

they have no players on their roster!

madness you might think! Probably not if they are in a top division and just banking the massive ticket receipts and tv contracts with no outgoings... and im guessing a decent draft pick for next season!

I know this is a game (a very good one!) but i dont think this is very realistic or is in the spirit of Buzzerbeater...

Something to be concerned about?
Or just short term sillyness for no long term gain?

I would like to see something more realistic in these cases - like no ticket revenues (what are the fans watching?!) and no TV receipts (what are the people at home watching?!).

What do you all think?

They are still going to get some attendance, and seeing as they have very little or no expenses, even if their attendance is lower they are still making a massive profit each week.

Since he sold all his players he got from the Arena:

$ 2,951,330

From the players he got:

$ 30,629,800

So probably, if we sum up everything and add the Tv Income (I guess there is none or litle merchandising), he should have around $ 35,000,000

Excelent decision to start again next season and get a wonderful team plus good rookies

Not exactly. One can keep 3 good players for training plus some crap. In that case you're able to make even more profit in such "season".

Edit: Shouldn't be allowed to have 0 players or less than 5 for more than 1 week.

He makes 400k and more per game. Plus probably a massive TV revenue. Plus maybe a tiny bit of money from merchandise although not much probably.

So he is making about 500k to 600k profit a week. Although I am sure he would be spending 40k a week on the draft.
Then he gets 1st draft pick which will probably be a player worth at least 500k unless he gets very unlucky.

Like it was mentioned above, he received 30.5 million dollars from his player sales.
The season is 14 weeks roughly which means he will make roughly 7 million in this time.
Plus who knows how much money he had in his bank account to begin with.
He might have over 40 million in his account at the moment.
Sounds like he will be unbeatable when he relegates :P

He might be able to train 3 players, but unless they are already good players then chances are their defense sucks and they will get fouled out every game before they get to 48 minutes.

Nah. Just pick up 2 players to use as scrubs in addition to the 3 trainees (you need to set a valid line-up). Chances are most of the shots will go to wherever the lucky fans are playing, so fouling on his trainees should not be any more than normal.

Don't need 5 to have a valid lineup. You need 3 players dressed per game.

It's easier than you all imagined. Before the Finals of the previous season he had told us he would leave the game. He wanted to win and leave unbeatable. He wasn't successful in Finals, but he sold all his players and actually did what he had promised. I don't know exactly, but now he is probably looking for great trainees, as he tried to get one of our best Centers of U21 but he decided not to pay so much. Let's see, maybe all our predictions are wrong...

We are the ones who wanna play, always wanna go but we never wanna stay

Yeah but I personally would not play each of my trainees every game. I would play them 1 game per week and not take the chance of an injury.
