It’s a new era for the Jumpstop Jumpers franchise.
Last evening the GM announced the acquisition of former #2 overall draft pick Fang Yujing, ushering in a new era.
During the introductory press conference, GM Randall El said “We are excited to be able to bring Fang home. It crushed us having to trade him for cash considerations on draft night but we always knew big things were in store for his career.
He’s really made a name for himself in the Buzzerbeater world and when we received word that he was going to be made available we just KNEW we had to do whatever it took to bring him home. By all accounts he’s excited to be here, and we can’t wait for the next chapters of Jumpstop Jumpers basketball.”
When asked about his thoughts on a reunion, Fang said “I’m ecstatic to be here. All credit goes to coach Antwon for shaping me into the player I am today, but I am thrilled to come home. Coach Randall gave me the opportunity of even being drafted and I knew if I had a chance to come back here that I’d do everything I could to make it happen. After talking with Coach, I’m very happy with the direction the team is headed in and I can’t wait for y’all to see us play.”
One antsy reporter decided to chime in with a question he knew likely wouldn’t be answered but hoped for a slip up anyway-
“Fang, as you know you were not the only player drafted by this Franchise in that draft. Are you in communication with Rod and what is the possibility of you two teaming up in the future?”
A taken aback Fang, eyebrows raised, took a moment to ponder the question before answering
“Yea my boy Rod is doing well for his team. We talk often you know, coming into the draft together. We’re brothers. And I wish him all the best. Would I like to team up with him one day? Absolutely, who wouldn’t? But as of right now I can’t comment on anything regarding someone who plays for another team or any acquisition opportunities. I just got here, management doesn’t consult me with team building plans haha”
It’s an exciting day in Jumpstop land, fans are pumped, management is pumped, even the players are excited at what this move possibly means for the future.
Only time will tell if it was a smart move however..
