Another referee found dead; union demands drastic action

Not much time had passed following the end of a highly controversial semi-final match between Hard Ball Gets and WA IS A DUMP, when reports started filtering through of a second instance of ref bashing this season. Hotel security cameras captured the incident where head official I.C Nothing was ambushed in underground parking by a masked group who had followed him from the stadium.

Despite the hotel's swift reaction, they were unable to revive I.C Nothing, nor were they able to chase down the masked group. It was immediately clear that the motive was related to the 46 free throw attempts awarded to Hard Ball Gets during the game, and so WA has been labelled a prime suspect. But with no incriminating evidence ever found against Rimmers or You Should've Dunked after the murder of Deaf Blinders, many now believe that this refereeing saga is the work of third parties.

The remaining ABBL referees have now unionized and threatened a strike unless the league assigns each referee a bodyguard to protect against ref bashing. Whilst many have rallied behind this cause, some have criticized the referees for playing innocent when both games in question contained "obviously biased and suspicious officiating."

Fans worry that this controversy casts a black cloud over the ABBL finals, especially since YSD and HBG have now both won a game featuring suspect officiating this season...
