I'm all for a local manager. I believe that Singapore managers will be better for our national team. You've done a good job with your team so I'm confident you'll do well for the national side too.

Originally I want to wait for the formal election thread is started but it seems if I don't start to "show" something, I'll be pulled away.

Let's put it like this. If you are a supporter of a local manager right from the start, it's ok for me. It's natural to support a local. But I still own the right to promote myself and persuade you.

Firstly, like STN, I haven't thought of candidating myself all along. Then suddenly Ben was not there and I was curious like others. Then one day Ben contacted me and said he would not be playing the game actively for a period of time and asked me if I would like to step up to be the U21 manager for 2 seasons and then he'll return.

Well, that's all these things started. I think for it for quite a while. Then I think I'm ready for a try.

I have much more experience. I am much more familiarized with the whole U21 stuff. This is my biggest advantage (albeit it seems to be miniimal compared to being a local)

I became the SGP U21 staff 4 seasons ago and I quit last season because of my reallife job. During my service, I was mainly responsible for the training of big men. I have worked with around 10-20 teams having good big men prospects, but those teams are usually new ones, so if you are a I.1 team, you probably won't know me. Dong Tian Kwang, Ahmad Shahrul Azhar bin Mohamed Rumi, Tung Wen Kok, Chung Wen Xin, among the others, are my "proof". I still remember how I was able to "save" Chung Wen Xin. His owner is a French living in SGP and initially he trained RB for the whole team, making Ben quite desperated.... As a scout, scouting is my main job, but I also gave my opinions on choosing the roster and tactics. Besides, I sometimes watch the games live with Ben, chatting, moaning and laughing. Sometimes Flyer Sonic was there too, since his PJL was one of the top U21 players at that time, all to his credit.

Another thing I must mention is the U21 database that is created by Ben and we have been using all along. The info and skills of all the U21 prospects are in it. Training progress is regularly checked and updated. We thus can give specific advice about how a guy can get better. I see that STN has shortlisted all the U21 prospects owned by a SGP team, which I appreciate but is not that efficient.

Ben and I have agreed that if I become the manager, he will be the scout. I reckon our mode of co-operation will be similar to before, just this time I was the manager.

I know all the importance of the coming U21 tournament as it'll be held in SGP (god knows when will be the next time...) and it's a matter of glory and honour. I am experienced and I do it for myself, for Ben and for all the SGP community.

cheers,
Vito

Well said. It's nice to see this resume of what you have put in and help SGP commuinity, it's really nice piece of work from you. I'm glad that you are willing to step up and help out again. After looking at it, that make me reconsider, about signing for for election spot.

But well, on a neutral side, I would like to ask you this question: will you be able to handle ur real life well enough, it's due to once you are elected as u21 manager, you will have to be there for 2 season. "i do have few question to ask STN to be fair."

By right, before STN or you decide to step, I does have intention to step up for election, but well, I have to admit that election is falling into one sided. 2 weeks more to go, anything could still happen, and for me, I may or may not step up for the election, not decided yet. So....
Good luck all.

Hi bro..

Just like what I said to naughty teacher, I'm glad that u step up for the election, etc.... and yes, you are local.

Before looking at his resume, my thought was that, if I decided not to step up for election, my vote would go to you, but thing changes, as he devote and put in alot of effort in help SGP in the past few season, which can't be deny. So before I decide if I should be a voter or a challenger, is still a big question, but well, that doesn't matter, what matter is which manager would be able to help SGP to grow and like everyone are looking forward to, u21 will be hosting next season, that give us more hope of winning.

So to be fair, since I asked him some question first, could have more during the election period, so I should ask you some as well to be fair: it's good that, if you could state, what's your intention after being u21 manager? What could you do to help the community? And what can you do personally to help SGP?
Thanks!

Good luck all for championship of your league or upcoming election..

Regard

Thanks Audi, real life is one of my considerations. Actually this was why I had to quit my scouting job back nearly 2 seasons ago. I am 23 years old and I am now an English teacher at a secondary school in Hong Kong, chasing students' homework every day. After graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in education, I started my teaching career last September. At first, I found it difficult to handle my job. Every day I need to spend a lot of time preparing for my lesson, marking assignments and having all sorts of staff meeting. I got exhausted. However, after nearly a year, the situation is much better now and I have been much more active in this game in recent months. As I teach more and more, I believe I can handle my job better and better.

I know if I am elected as U21 manager, I'll be there for 2 seasons, i.e.approx. 6 months. As a teacher, I will have a long summer vacation and we have exam in June and so I don't have much to do in June except for marking. I will indeed be busier starting from September, but I am confident everything will be under control.

Once I am in, I will not quit.

Vito

I also wanna ask you. Why you want manage SG U21? For me very simple I wanna see SG team great roll. I mean not only national team, include all of the SG teams in B3 also. If you have talent or anyperson who can handle well SG national team and U21 team I will never join to election. Bcuz I need to handle STN, I want SBBL title and B3 title. I wanna know what is your plan, if you can show good plan coming election you will be sure our U21 manager.
