I have a problem. I finished second at the end of the season in conference II.2 Big8 div. in Hungary, but I won the playoff of my division. unfortunately I lost the conference finals, so I didn't promoted to a higher level. But. Because of bot teams, more teams are promoted to higher levels, so as the season winner of my division. I won the playoff, and the season winner is promoted? it's not logical for me... any ideas?

there was smaller number of bots in 1st division then human owned clubs in all 2nd divisions - therefore it was impossible to promote them all...my guess

The playoff winners are promoted automatically. This is true even if they are a bot.
After the regular promotion, then any bots from the upper divisions are relegated down, and active teams are promoted from the lower divisions. This way, all leagues in the upper divisions will start the season with active teams (rather than bots).
In Hungary I.1 there were 8 bots at the end of the season. 4 relegated normally, and were replaced by the playoff winners from the 4 D.II leagues. The other 4 were part of the special relegation. The promoted teams were selected on the basis of conference finish, league wins, point differential, points scored. In the case of Hungary, all 4 playoff winners were also conference regular season champions; so the extra 4 promotees were the other 4 conference regular seasons champions, regardless of how they did in the playoffs.

ok, I understand, but this is a little bit illogical for me. Essentially I won the division, didn't I? I think who wins the playoff wins the division. Wining the regular season means you gain the home advantage for the playoff, it's not the final result of the championship. So I have to be promoted not the runner-up...

The only part of promotion that is guaranteed is to win the league playoff.
The extra promotion is a way to deal with bots, and is in no way guaranteed, and is really a special procedure that is outside the rules, and initially after Season 2, somewhat of an ad hoc procedure. The BB would hope that it wouldn't be needed, and in the future the number of extra promotions will probably decline (for example in the top division in the USA, there were no bots at the end of the season). But the reality is that probably around 1/2 the teams that signup, don't last more than 5 weeks. So especially in the new countries and the new divisions there will be lots of bots. For example, 4 to 6 teams promoted from D.IV leagues in the USA.
I personally think that there is too big of risk of an upset in the playoffs, which diminishes somewhat the value of a good regular season. So arguably, you were lucky to win your conference playoff (while a team that wins the league playoff was perhaps a little more deserving - or at least were lucky 3 times in a row).

you weren`t lucky...in Serbia was 12 bots in 1st division (!?!) means that 12 teams has been promoted...aprox. 3 from each 2nd division...

i'm complaining cos i deliberately lost some games so i would NOT get promoted because i played scrimmages against teams in the league ahead of me and i got my ass handed to me.
