That is far from having a link with trading.
I wasn't addressing trading. I was responding specifically to your post where you explained that two teams transferring players between them using the Transfer List would be cheating if they did not sell their players at reasonable prices, even going so far as to say that the GM's would adjust the profits they made to make it a "fair" trade.
You can buy a player from someone in your league. It happens often at the top of a country since they are all looking for the same type of player (best of your home nation).
...
You know that your opponent might be weaker if he successfully sell a player. That also means he could buy another player in the near future and you will follow that.
These are all good arguments as to why a certain transfer may occur, but doesn't really address my question.
Knowing that an opponent of your league is selling a player doesn't mean that encourage intra conference transfer. It's a way to monitor your opponent amongst other. It has seldom nothing to do with trading also.
Then why is BB showing me specifically the players in my league that are for sale? That gives anyone in my league essentially first bid on any of those players. It's free transfer list scouting that takes me no time but a click on my league page.
And, the way I understand it, you guys won't even do anything due to the large number of daily transactions if teams "swap" players this way unless someone from the league that is affected complains. You are incentivizing intra league transfers by making them common knowledge in the league. Also, BB is giving an advantage to league members over a team that is selling off a player (by your own admission):
It is also useful if the player is not sold in the end since you now know his skillset. You can also make your own opinion of what skillset your opponent is looking after or have build his team.
by giving player skill information to everyone in that league.
The things you guys think are cheating in this game never ceases to amaze me.
