There is a key at the bottom. There should be a symbol that says optimal cost with a number next to it. that number is the price that will make you the most money for that section.

win games, beat ur rival, win when being televised and set ur bleachers to 10 lower tier to 38 courtside to 140 and luxury boxes to a 1000..... u will still have some empty seats but once u start winning they will start filling up fast

that training planner is questionable, but helpful nevertheless. If my attendance is above the exponential line, why would I change to the "optimal" cost?
What's "r2" in the formula? Why is it "1.500", is it something different to "1.5"?
Thanks!

Youre over my head now. Im not so good with the formulas and such. I do know that the optimal cost is the point at which your prices and attendance bring you the most profit. So although raising your prices a bit may bring less fans, you may make more money depending on what your prices are.

Well, if your attendance is consistently above the line then no, you wouldn't decrease your prices to the optimal level.
But the line is simply based on the average of all the sampled games where teams had that indicated ticket price. In that sense it's a pretty conservative estimate of optimal ticket pricing. Obviously the attendance is dependent on everything in the fan survey, and also whether you just promoted/demoted, so there will be cases when you should choose a price point higher or lower than the "optimal" cost.
I found it very useful for setting prices as I promoted into a new league this season. In this case, I looked at the higher end of the actual attendance figures, and set my prices accordingly. Also, in the past I've used it when I know will upgrade my arena in a time frame sooner than the next ticket adjustment price. In that case, I've set my prices so that I will be near sell out levels once the upgrade is completed.
As for the r2, that is the correlation coefficient for the fit of the data to the equation at the left of the (r2). As for 1.500, it's probably not meant as anything important.

Thank you! I have another question - Do fans react to league or division average? In other words, can a team with a larger arena damp the ticket prices for the league?

Hmm, I've never heard anyone suggest that, and I've never personally seen anything to suggest it. But honestly I don't follow other peoples' arena pricing closely enough.
Do you suspect something like that is happening?

You need hotter cheerleaders, Barry White music instead of We Will Rock You, Private Booths, low lighting and a free Viagra with every lower tier seat.
