Ahhhh Patrick Pierce, Paul Pierce's white-Canadian twin, haha :D Nah but he is quite a player who definitly could deserve to be on that list. I made this earlier in the season though, and probably did not give enough time for the players to prove themsleves.

Mesut Sinirl is way better than Pierce! Ratings are the single best indicator for how well someone is. Pierce is 10.5 to Sinirli's 14.5. Sinirli scores more points in less minutes 21ppg to 17ppg. He has better FG % and 3FG%. He would have more rebounds if he didn't play SF so much. Sinirli is able to play SF or PF and defend and score against either inside offenses or outside offenses. Sinirli probably has better defense based on his rating, DMI and salary. Pierce is only better at not turning over the ball, passing and shot-blocking. I'll take Sinirli and his versatility any day!

Yeah, I have always been told that ratings are the best way to measure how good a player is and what he means to your team. Does anyone know how it is calculated though?

Ok for the record Sinurli plays 32 minutes a game and Pierce plays 33. Thats a wash. Also Sinurli shoots 56% and Pierce shoots 53% again a wash. 20 points per game to 18 points per game. Wash, the big difference is in rebounds, blocks, and not turning the ball over. Pierce is better in all 3. Both players shoot free throws well and as for 3's Sinurli is 7-17, Pierce is 4-18. Were talking about 3 makes, its not like either player is firing up 3's all game. Ratings do matter but there are routinely bench players that play 8 minutes and get a 12.0 rating while starter can throw up huge games and end up with a 11.0 rating. Lets look at the numbers and you tell me who you'd rather have. I also disagree that Sinurli plays better D.

It is pretty common when players hit the floor for only a few minutes that their ratings are inflated. Probably the easiest way to explain it is that it is often when a good player is coming off the bench at the end of a game and is mismatched against the bottom of the barrel.
