Niger isn't an offensive word. The offensive word has two g's and would be inappropriate. I was just stating that you need to take things in context. Calling a black person who isn't named "Coon" is offensive. But a person or town named Coon is fine. Besides, I'm not trying to say they shouldn't change it. But if my name was Coon, I would be offended by what you said (essentially that my name offends you) so I thought I should say something. But BB can change it if they want.

No matter where you go, there you are.

No problem. I've just never been very PC but I'm not put off by it... my wife still likes me at least.

It makes for colorful play by play. Speaking of which, I've noticed that occasionally there will be no assist on these play by play calls:

1. X goes up and catches an alley oop and scores.
2. X catches in the corner and goes straight up, and scores.

I can imagine some instances where a player may catch a pass in the corner, not dribble, wait, wait and then shoot. And then no assist would be granted. But I can't imagine an alley oop without an assist . . . unless he's catching his own pass?

Otherwise I think the play by play is very good and interesting. Though, I hope they will add some variation in the future to keep things interesting.

It's a real name - our DB in the US comes from census records.

However, it's not our intent to offend people, so we've removed that name from the database and we'll be renaming the existing players.

Thanks. Now it's out of my mind and I can enjoy the play by play.

I think this is a slippery slope -- there must be hundreds of other first and last names you could make this same argument about. "Mick" and "Kraut" come to mind.

Whatever they do, I hope they don't delete this guy (6883245). He's got the best offensive name in the game, in my opinion. Even the haircut fits :). But, with more women playing the game, I fear it's only a matter of time :( . LOL
