Your world championship medal was really remarkable. I hope to clinch the same result but taking a look at competitors... It will be difficult 😂
My previous post was simply underlying that tactic is really important when playing. And tactics have specific requirements in skills. If you ask me why aus and chn lost my answer would not be "because of Philippines hca" but it would be "because they both used the wrong tactic on offense".
It's an opinion, I don't know skills, I did only an estimate based on stats and training weeks but to play low post you should have specific players according to what I think. Low post is not a "i fear a double gdp on look inside so I play lp".
It requires good passing in centers for example, it requires good driving and is for the backcourt. And if your opponent has high defensive ratings (clearly inflated by hca but just for the record, our defensive skills were better than for example Italy, in terms of players skills, not team rating which is inflated as I said), your flow can be misdirected, your shot selection can be far from ideal.
Our offense was poor, prominent in inside scoring is really a low team rating, if you attack with a slow pace you are projecting yourself on a lower scoring effort than a fast paced. And in that case a lower scoring effort helped our (fast) offense to score the needed points to stay ahead.
I mean, these are only my opinions, my staff also identified the same thing (coach Fabio, I am talking to you! 😂). It's just to say that it's clearly true that hca is a huge factor to consider but it's also true that there was a big gap between teams and tactic choices were a key factor too.
Not using a double gdp on look inside was a precise choice we made because we predict that low post could have been used. And we considered it a mistake which could have give us the lead to win.

I am not arguing with you, it's simply that I love to speak about tactics 😂 and I love to learn something new, I won Europe and world championship with italy but believe me, I learned so many things in these three seasons as Philippines u21 Coach that gave me a boost also in my own team in Italy div 1.

- Pastor "The Story" Gavadan (manager Greer - Italy): he's the story of this AC. Only one world caliber big man, paired with low profile guys in every match, affordable scorer but he went down for 2 weeks, he came back, he celebrated the win vs Australia and then again another injury, another two weeks right when the semifinal (and the final) were approaching. It seemed all over for him, his manager bought a super-doctor, Gavadan came back on time to play on thursday before the semifinal, he trained shape. He was 9 in shape, he played the semi, he played the final, he won the final, he annihilated China. Good job Pastor, you're THE GUY.
- Ludivino "Ugly Ludy" Gamosa (manager Greer - again!): our team was full of secondaries, full of TSP, full of pink colors everywhere. Gamosa is not, but he's 20. And played in a final vs the #1 n the world, against proficient 21yo players with more than three times his DMI. Just to say Thank you to my old friend Greer, old because I knew him since many years (not because he's old, really), we won many things together and he's a master in training ugly centers (Hey opponents, don't lay on this, Gamosa is being trained now to be more skilled on both sides!)

Yes marami kasing factors na nakakadistort din sa rankings. Kaya mahirap magrely sa rankings, magugulat ka ang lakas pala ng kalaban mababa lang ang ranking haha!
