No need to run

You are correct and to be honest I was being a little facetious with my comment

That said, perhaps going CT against better teams in the cup as he did against PeaceNroll, might be exactly what he did last season thus enabling him to get his ranking so high

Ranking system is definately weighted too heavily on cup performances.

Perhaps it should take into consideration (or give some weighting to) the combined DMI of the most expensive 10 players from a team, ladder position, the actual league their in (i.e. ABBL, Div2 , Div 3 etc), rankings of teams they are playing and how they perform against them, 13 week history of all games giving extra weighting to past 4 games etc, attendance figures at games

With a little over half of us left, how are we feeling about our Round 3 Cup match. I am feeling confident that I should get through.

I am pretty confident I should win. Though with TIE(me) vs GFI (him) I could lose. *shrug*

I'm in a similar position. Got through in the last game against a team using CT while i played TIE. The next team is ranked lower and has much less depth, so i should be able to progress even playing TIE again. My only concern will be there U21 Australian Rep - PG. However aside from him he has only got one player with a salary over 10k.

So, my bigs should flat out dominate. Won the boards in my last game 67-28 so i'll be looking to replicate that :)

I haven't ever really had much interest in the cup anyway. So I just put in players that need minutes and play TIE.

So can't really be bothered with a win or loss. The league is usually where I compete, and I've got a competitive team so certainly playing to win the league games in preference to the cup.

I can't see the point of the cup at all really.

my main reason for wanting a good run in the cup is because it affects your attendances and fan satisfaction. therefore financially it can be important. given the attendance boost you currently have due to your promotion it might not make as much of a difference though.

Cup can also be worth $50K a week income plus if you have an easy run you can also get your teams enthusiam up

What a game against SVM!!! The redbacks fought back to get into the lead, before SVM tied it back up and neither team could hit a shot in the last cpl mins. Finally though, SVM hit the game winner on the buzzer thanks to a Capisagasti jumper from the top of the key. I really wanted this W, but well played to SVM on a great win. It was a great game.

that makes it a couple of key wins for SVM, against you and myself.

I'm back on the track, picked up my 2nd straight win after that horrible stats. Very happy with the ratings as well.
