That being said. Let's have everyone submit nominees for player of the week. Then we can vote on Sunday. I'll start it in another thread, and we'll see if it takes off or not.

Gavno are in first by a point differencial of 1, so if we both win on saturday 1st place will go to who ever wins by more.

Goats,

I often see better performance from my subs simply because they are playing against the opposition's second unit. I don't have a ton of drop off in my 2nd unit, so its typical that I'll see a guy in the 2nd unit put a tenacious 15 minutes in, and get a high rating. One thing I've also noticed is that I tend to see heavier minutes for my starters on the road. At first I thought this might have to do with choosing "let coach decide," but it still held true for other options. The tendency on the road seems to be that my starters get about 32-40 minutes per game.

Question for the group. What impact have you seen from players with higher experience? I see this as less impacting than game shape, or even stamina, however, I've also noticed that my experienced players are more consistent whereas my younger and inexperienced players have more volatility. I also notice that they tend to make more "crunch time" plays.

Does everyone have a set starting 5? I don't. Mine rotates from game to game based upon training minutes, and matchups. This past week I sat my regular PG against Marietta, and sat my regular SG against EC so that I can start them both for the cup.

I love the player of the week idea.

I have a set starting 5 for every league game, maybe once in a while 1 player will be different for training purposes, and I never use my starters for cup games. I treat them as friendlies, and most seasons i still make it pretty far in the cup. As for experienced players I haven't really noticed any impact of having more experience, but I haven't been paying attention to that at all, and my more experienced players still aren't that high

I change them all the time to avoid stamina going down and to try to keep game shape up.. I tend to think it is my downfall.. I started only 1 of my starters vs. Rip and look where it got me..

Yeah. I've typically had a set starting lineup for League games while the backups and the remaining players tend to start the Scrimmages. I've never placed great emphasis on the Cup Games for some reason. It used to be a while back my backups would actually perform quite well in the Cup Games and would take my team pretty far. I made it pretty far in the Cup Tourney a few seasons back using just my backups as the starting lineup while my typical starters sat.

PG - Clinton Cantrell
SG - Lorenzo Capps
SF - Lowell Webber
PF - Rotating Player because I can't seem to find one that sticks out; Bobby Dorman has played most minutes at PF though
C - Vernan Partridge

That was my typical starting lineup but the age of Capps is starting to play a factor in my decisions in that I will be either deciding to sell him and start fresh with a younger SG. My lineup is actually quite young now with Capps being the star veteran and Cantrell being the reliable leader (except for that short stint on the IR) along with Webber.
