Well to answer your first question, game shape maybe? Bearden was average while Papp was respectable, and they both played all 48 mins with not much help, so maybe stamina factored in a bit as well.

As for your second question, I think an argument can be made for both Robitaille and Papp for starting positions in the ASG, as well as for the other starters and backups. In this case, if by "best stats for a C in the league" you mean rebounds, yes. Papp averages a whooping 18.9 boards per game, which is amazing. Robitaille averages only 11.5. Papp also averages 0.5 more points per game (16.2 compared to 15.7). While great numbers, you also have to put into consideration that Papp averages 5 more minutes per game than Robitaille (38.6 compared to 33.7).
But I believe Robitaille wins the battle in terms of efficiency. He has a higher overall field goal percentage (55.8% to 52.1%), better free throw percentage which isn't too big of a deal, more assists (4.1 to 3.2), more steals (0.9 to 0.2) and their blocks are pretty much identical (1.9 for Robitaille and 1.8 for Papp). But the biggest factor in consistency is their rating, where Robitaille averages a 13.0 compared to Papp's 11.5.
All that being said, both players are great centers, and I believe the battle for the starter could've gone either way. As for Donat, he's a heck of a player and I think his omission from the top 4 in PF voting can be largely attributed to the depth for that position in the great 8. I felt the same way about Noiret not being in the top 4 for SGs. However, he's missed extended time due to injury, and now he's injured again so maybe that has something to do with it as well. The all star game should be very competitive and I'm looking forward to it!

On another note, congrats to the Winking Mares on your extended cup run!

Thanks dude. Looks like I'm out of the tournament tonight though.

Man, the lightning hoopers have a doozy of a schedule to finish this season out.

Ha, I'll say. I'm really bracing myself lol. Disappointing game tonight to start off a tough a very tough stretch. Major kudos to the Blaserz for absolutely destroying me on the road! That backcourt is lethal. But to make matters worse after my next two tough games, I play my other difficult games on the road and honestly I could drop to the 4th seed by playoff time. Just hoping I can stay healthy through it and get some luck because this playoff race is gonna be a tight one.

Thanks so much. Tough game, I thought at half time I was going to be totally shut down the rest of the way. One good quarter saved my butt. The other three were very tight. I was sweating it to the end. I have to make a few changes, when my back ups go in for extended periods, they give up a lot of points and don't score enough to keep up with what they give up. Good game though, you held me down, way down in scoring.

I just looked and you have what could be a really painful schedule left. Good luck, especially in your next game. I could use a three game cushion. LOL

Thanks man, I'm gonna need it! I wish those tough games were more spread out, so I could at least manage my minutes better for good game shape. But it is what it is. Things should become very interesting down the stretch though.

Yeah, we all get hit with it at one time or another. 3 of my last 4 games are against the 2,3,4 place teams on my side. That is why I hope to build a bit of a lead. in case I lose those three games, I won't drop like a brick in the standings. We do what we can, at times I have been my worst enemy. Trying to out think my opponent and changing my tactics around. Usually comes back to bite me hard and I lose when I should have had a chance. At this point I have been just putting my guys out there and letting them do their best. That will continue especially when we get to the playoffs........MAYBE. :)

Tough game with Lighting Hoops. It was a close one. Not very impressive stats from my guys lol.

Three point win, must have gone down to the wire. A real nail biter to be sure. With you right behind me in the standings, I must confess I was rooting for the hoopsters LOL.
But I had a good night as my opponent decided to do inside box and one against my run and gun. Three pointers can be like lay ups with the right defense. 16 of 33 from three point land. With my PG putting up 37 points for the game.

Yeah another entertaining game, despite me being on the losing side. And just like that the Great 8 race just got a whole lot more interesting. But my stats weren't great either. What my team is greatly lacking is a perimeter game. My team hasn't proven that we can compete with top-tier shooting teams, on the offensive and defensive end. That's where I really miss Noiret, and I'm hoping I can get him back at least before Saturday's game against Strong arm so I can give myself the slightest bit of a chance lol. I still need to invest in an elite PG or SF, but I'll be a while before I can accomplish that.

Also, I should have power rankings up by Friday. @GodOnEarth, feel free to take over at any time ;) .

I have gone for the better rebounders up front, still working on that as I think they need a lot more improvement. And set a good back court. Guys that can make it rain from beyond the line. While my PG SG have a good chemistry, I'm always wanting more and better. I have been trying to find a SF to compliment those guys. I have found good seconds, but nothing I really totally like. money is the problem of course. While I did drop 90k on a new guy, I have been trying to save money to put into my arena. As everyone knows a very slow process unless you want to blow a wall out and build huge and drop your prices way down. I am by no means the sharpest pencil in the case and my plans change....often as I get impatient and side tracked by...oh look shiny. LOL next season I need to find a replacement for my backup PG. He is getting old and constantly dropping skills now. He is serviceable but won't last all that much longer for me.
