Dude, JR is how high players can jump. That's the closest thing we have to determine the dunk contest by. Can Dwight Howard jump far? No. Can Dwight Howard jump high? Yes.

Exactly, so if a player is further from the basket his shooting is more ineffective. Therefor if a player has a higher JR, his jump brings him closer to the net.

So that means he can jump. That's the point. You know that dunkers also jump to shoot, right?

How is that not at all? It says that a players shot is worse if their further from the net. And jump range brings you closer to the net. That's common sense lol.
