Probably not play 2-3 zone def.
When you aren't 100% sure, use man.

I think my players are better than him.

As long as he won't play low post, which he has 2 recent games. Man is safer. Up to you tho.

I think he read the replies and guessed what defense you will do. Then, changed his tactic from look inside to motion and won the game. I could suggest you to play Look Inside and on defense don't do 3-2 otherwise next match you can see him playing as Look Inside
