I never said anything remotely close to that. I bought an 18 yo tall with guard skills so I could focus on primaries and have very little to do with secondaries. His primaries are about 1.5 seasons behind a normal trainee because of the low level of his starting primary skills. However should someone try to copy him when he is finished, they will lose just as much time trying to catch up to his secondaries...

Sure his peak will come a season or 2 later, but the 7-8 seasons after he reaches it will be better than a mono skilled player of a similar level.

Even though the draft can suck I still invest in it, you just never know when the draft class will be amazing.

But we really do need some bigs drafted, and soon.

by Mono-skilled I dont mean mono-skill, I mean train up your primaries b4 secondaries since primaries is "primaries" after all. Dont worry I know huzzard's skills, i think he was a 6'9 SG so he must have good secondaries ;)

Thats what I have been doing... And I wasn't even talking about huzzard. My other trainee is going to be a lot better than him.

I have been doing the same thing...My guy is a season and half behind where my former u21 centre is his big primaries.

My big annoyance is that my 18yo big that I picked up in the draft, with his near $7k salary and all resp primaries has "starter" potential. SO ANNOYED!

people always complaint about that... or 6k in salary and superstar but too bad he was a 19 years old... or omg all time great and only 1k salary... but hey 7k starter could develop into a solid starter for your team.

Yeah, I am going to get some training into him and see what I get...but as far as being a player that will useful for the u21 team, really not going to happen is all I am saying!

atg and 1k salary is worthless

that means it will take at least 3 seasons to make him as good as another 18 year old rookie would have been at the start - but if that one is trained he will still be behind

and do you really want a player with a $300,000 weekly salary?

i see them bouncing around on the tl every week for 1 million

the best guys have about a 100-150k salary and well rounded skills - superstar to mvp is all you ever really need

just making an example

beside if you do draft an ATG,MVP,HOF and he has 1k salary, you would be pissed to no end and start whinning: "if only he has decent starting skills..."
