lol touche

But how do you figure the 31 points when you've got a PD of 54 v 5 for me.

That game of EGG where i TIE is coming back to bite me though. Could be sitting on 4-0.

Simple mathes

Redbacks beats GT by 10 points
GT beats HA y 21 points

Therefore Redbacks have comprehensively proven to be a 31 point team than HA

You should be able to play your second team against HA and TIE and still win based on those figures.

Better yet give up and sell all your players, because as was eluded to by ezlife, HA is good .

Happy for you to employ either of the these two strategies

lol if only that method actually worked, i would feel much more comfortable.

So many variables that aren't factored into all that, like GT's best player going down in the 2nd Q against me, but playing for the entire game against HA.
Not to mention strategy, effort level, stamina levels etc etc etc

However, the TIE approach when playing HA does appear attractive given it's likely a walk over anyway lol.

I agree

Interesting to see what a real conteder like DAS does now

Going to be hard for him to support his expensive roster with a tiny stadium and no cup income

Speaking of no income from the cup, I've just seen the draw for my teams next cup game

Double Bugger what a horror draw for HA

Makes matters worse is that the upcoming opponents 2 league games previous to playing HA are against a soon to be bot and what appears to be a tanker

Hi Tremell

Am I right to deduce that you are tanking the season?

If you are I'm curious as to the logic and what your plans are

Given that you know the strengths of the long time managers in this league, I'm curious as to who you think the 3 or 4 are who are who are most likely to be in line for promotion at the end of this season.

A lot of intrancancies such as roster, financial capabilities, experience etc to be considered

Melbourne Redbacks and Nevada Saucers both look very capable on all levels

Hey Sid

Yeah spot on mate im tanking this season and will be headed overboard to div3 after this season....If lara doesnt get on to set a team though i might be lucky to get a relegation series and more money before i go down which would be a bonus!

My logic behind it is that my cash reserves and players and potential moves going forward were exhausted (i had a good 2 seasons towards the top but was unlucky and got roadblocked when my window was open) so when i started last season 10-3 but could see i wasnt going to win the whole thing i decided it was time to pull the pin then and get a good 1.5 seasons training in before i hit div3. Also i was too one dimensional towards the end of my best team before i sold up, so i realise i need to create a more flexible and less predictable lineup so thats basically the plan haha.

As far as potential teams to win the whole thing this season its still very early so a lot can change. However i would say you can rule a line through probably 11 of the teams right now. Here are my top 5 battling for it all.....

Great 8
Drunken All-Stars - Great allround team, has slowly been building up and is possibly peaking at just the right time. Possibly not tested in enough big finals games though.
SJOD - SJOD is the sleeper of the league. He is another that has been in the league basically the same amount of time as myself but has consistently the last 2 seasons just concentrated on his cup run/training and done enough to avoid relegation. I put him on the list because i know he has significant cash reserves from all his time floating around 6th-7th and with a 3-2 start he may just dip into his funds late in the season and make a run.
South Brisbane Vultures - Obviously unlucky a couple of seasons ago to come down from abbl and then ran into Zazz in the final. A finals tested team so if you were a betting man and wanted a safe bet on who will get out of the great 8 to the finals he is probably that bet atm.

Big 8
Glenelg Tigers - He is someone ive spoken to on here and seems like a good guy. On what i believe is the weaker side of the draw atm. I think if he makes the final he will still struggle to make abbl but who knows what his plans are to improve.
hopelessly addicted - Yourself haha. Your back from abbl and may have some tricks up your sleeve imo towards the end of the season. Also your on the "weaker big 8" side. When i say weaker the big 8 has 8 teams that can win games just not many would actually win the promotion final imo. Great 8 has a very deep top 4.

Apologies to:
Melbourne Redbacks - The team i beat to promote all that time ago from div3! He has come out of the very hard III.6 but i see him as more of a danger in the next 1-3 seasons. Sorry
Nevada Saucers - Highly ranked last season and a personal fav of mine i still cant imagine nevada making the final for some reason. Hope he proves me wrong but he has only had that one good season last season and i think teams like DAS and SJOD (if he ponies up some cash) will have passed him by.

Interesting anaylsis.

I had Melbourne Redbacks and Nevada Saucers picked because of their depth in roster, cash flow & reasonable sized stadiums

Glenelg Tigers certainly have cash flow and a decent sized stadium.

SJOD is interesting in that he obviously has money in the bank but at the moment his roster IMO is not all that strong.

DAS is currently losing about 100K a week by my calculations

SB Voultures finances might not be that sound, they appear to be losing money and have never bitten the bullet to expand their stadium - but certainly have experience on their side

Not sure which side of the draw is best to be on. Likes of Nevada must be laughing - TV game and rival was Lara Giants- easy win with no waste of enthusiam.

Youself tanking and Lara Giants doing whatever his doing should make it easier for teams in that side of the draw to have great enthusiam levels which should aid them in the crossover games

HA will have to choose what games to use enthusiam on and have an almost impossible cup game this week.

Fan Survey and consequently gates will take a pounding because HA can't win all of these games during the next 2 weeks.

Lara Giants could turn everytning on its ear with a spending spree.

HAs first goal is to finish his stadium which by doing so will affect his short term capabilities on entering into a spending spree.

HA will also be selling some big name players towards the end of this season if he is convinced he can't promote

Anything can happen should one Manager be lucky enough to make some good sales and purchases at the right time.

Through no fault of the Manager, injuries can cripple the best managed team at the worst time
