Maybe...but where will you find a guard with ID 14 and SB 8?

I also noticed there are very little blocks when playing M2M. That's because a player with ID 17 and SB 10 will not block a lot of shots, coming from a player with IS 17. However he can block some shots coming from guards with DR 17 and IS 5, for example. Maybe that's one of the reasons a lot of people say SB isn't useful - because SB should be really high to create a next Serge Ibaka. I mean, you face a IS 20 guy with ID 18 and SB 12, and complain SB is useless...face the same guy with ID 19 and SB 18 and suddenly blocks will start coming.

Guards dont need high ID to block shots. If you look at guards with even 8SB and ID as low as 2, you will find that they still can block 1+ shots a game on average. It is based upon those driving layups. You will also find that having good SB on guards will leave the opponents' guards having less success on layups, even in M2M.

As for blocked shots in general by bigs(like Serge Ibaka in real life) what types of shots get more shots in the NBA? Layups, floaters, and dunks. Very rarely do you see a big man who can score just get blocked while shooting normally. Just like on here, the SB wont effect regular inside shots as much as it would effect the driving layups and dunks in games. Just like it was mentioned by someone earlier, playing zone will lead to more blocks, however you will also find that when a player has more SB he will help more with help defense and block more shots as well. So M2M doesn't cut down on those blocked shots really if you have an excellent shotblocker.

Here in D5, 2-3 zone is the best way to go against most squads, because the players honestly shoot like high school freshman if you're at any respectable distance from the hoop. I've run a 2-3 in 11 of 13 league games, and I'm sitting at 12 and 1 and leading the league in scoring defense... and imho, it's a combination of several things that make that work best.

first and foremost, like someone already said, your PG and SG HAVE to know how to stop the outside shot, because against a lot of offenses you'll have those 2 guys covering 3 guys trying to hit outside shots.

2nd, your inside players need to have a good balance of the inside defense stats. by that I mean, shot blocking, rebounding, and of course general inside defense. those 3 stats are just above the bottom right corner of a player's skill table, should be easy to find. you've gotta keep those 3 running at peak efficiency and balance to make things work defensively.

lastly, one of the the best way to keep things running smoothly is to put together a squad that doesn't turn the ball over on the other end. you can help out any defense not let in baskets by making sure they have as few chances to do so as possible.

Now, as the shooting percentages go up, like in D4 and D3, I'm sure the 2-3 loses its effectiveness to some extent, because teams will have more outside shooting ability. but if you're in the lowest division in the USA, or just playing a team that likes to favor a look-inside offense, the 2-3 is the way to go.

your strategy works with an unstoppable inside team against unstoppable inside teams..
what about the lower league competition..?
in which case would you suggest a lower league team to play 2-3 Zone against his opponent..?

How many unstoppable inside teams are there in the lower league competition?

Depends on tankers...
